The Miami HEAT announced August 1 that free agent forward Samaki Walker has signed a contract with the team. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not released. </div> I guess he will start at power forward. They will leave Grant at Center.

Hmm....well, they have a semi-legit PF now I guess. Though, they do have Brian Grant, but, if they don't get center, he'll have to go there.

pathetic. the best the miami heat could obtain in the off-season is a stiff like samaki. the desire to play for pat riley has hit an all time low in the nba. pat resurrected ike austin's career, so who knows, maybe samaki will actually produce for them.

Hmmm........... I don't know what to say about this signing, I haven't really seen him play that much, but when I have, he didn't impress me much.

i think he could give the Heat some decent rebounding. depending on how long they signed him.. i think they shoulda saved up their money for next season. they do hafta fill those roster spots though

I'm thinking the Lakers are going to use Horace Grant as the backup 4

I can give you a description of Samaki in 1-2 words:
    ButterFingers

Actually, Samaki had his moments. He is very strong and is a bit underrated IMO. However, his IQ is very low and he trash talks ALOT. Too bad he couldn't back up his trash. Anyways, apparently he had a rift with Phil Jaxon at the end of the season...Yet with practice he could easily be like Brad Miller(an undeserving all-star in the east) and average 12&8 as a starter in the East. He had a tough time working in the triangle; just my take.

He will be fine on the Heat if Riles doesn't work him to hard and if he gets minutes.

Yeah he will play mainly center though. He is bulkier than he used to be, and we need a backup center to guard the Duncan's of the world. Slava will share minutes with Ho, but this is Slavs year to shine.
