<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Heat concluded its nearly month-long search for a veteran point guard Friday when it agreed to terms with guard Smush Parker, two sources said. Parker started most of the past two years for the Lakers before losing his starting job late last season. Parker, 26, is believed to have agreed to a two-year contract for a portion of the Heat's $5.35 million mid-level exception. The deal is contingent on Parker passing a physical on Monday. </div> Link Good luck with him, you're going to need it

a few days ago on the espn rumor central thing, it said that there were rumors of us trying to do a trade for rafer alston (possibly including doleac? cant remember). i can only hope and pray that we do get him, but there hasnt been a whole lot of talking about it, so idk.
Mike Bibby > Mo Williams > Rafer Alston > Juan Carlos Navarro > a flaming bag of dog crap > Smush Parker. Man, you guys really gave up on this offseason.
Good luck with him guys. I don't see how he's going to work here. He didn't respond well to a laid back coach like PJax, how's he going to survive with Riley, someone who is going to demand much more. But regardless, have fun with his no-defense and selfish play style.

What are you guys trying to do? Put together an And1 All-Star team? lol. I'm pretty sure the signing of Smush will mean no more point guard additions onto your roster
on a positive note, i aso read this on espn: "Parker is one of four players with at least 110 steals and 110 3-point field goals in each of the past two seasons. Gilbert Arenas, Kobe Bryant and Jason Kidd are the others." http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2951912

Maybe this experience humbles Smush and he matures with this new opportunity. Most people didn't expect him back in the league, and Miami signed him out of desperation. At least you're guaranteed four All-Star performances from him this year. For some reason he kills the Orlando Magic.
also, this means that j-will will likely be the starter again this year, right? IMO, this would be the right way to go, so long as he avoids injuries and what not.
Smush does always kill Orlando for whatever reason. We always focus on Kobe and Smush torches us every time.
I think he will be an alright addition. He may play well in a team environment. And if he learnt how to be a selfish player then you can thank the "role model" for selfish Mr Kobe Bryant. I think he will play within his means, in a run and gun offence with D Wade rather than the triangle, and Pat Riley will get on him and make him play harder than ever before. I wouldn't damn this signing just yet.
I don't see how they'll benefit from him, as I was thinking he would be a better fit for a team for like Indiana or New Jersey. He can be a good player when he wants to be. His only problem is his attitude, and his gambling on offense.

And why are you now blaming Bryant for Smush's lack of skills? Lol. Bryant is not a hog either. The Triangle was somewhat of a bad system for Smush only because of his low Basketball IQ. Otherwise, he would have been the ideal PG for that system since he is a tall, ****y passer who plays PG (his shooting on the perimeter was alright; people were frustrated with him because he doesn't have Kobe's skills yet shoots ridiculous floaters and such).
The problem with Smush was his attitude. He dogged it 80% of the time, then lost his minutes, then wondered why, then complained he wasn't being paid enough. When Smush was focused he performed well for the Lakers. He just let his immaturity ruin his development in LA.
I just noticed Brevin Knight is still available, I'm not sure if the Heat ever talked with him, but he would've been a better option over Smush.
LMAO, Miami must be desperate as hell....I'd take my chances with J. Will before the man they call "Smush"
