Is anybody surprised by this? Another black eye for the UFC. They are taking some major punches lately. DFW must be fuming. Sidenote, I did not realize Lombard was 37. Kiss your UFC career goodbye.
Presumably his win over Burko will be overturned. I don't know what Rory is going to do in the meantime. They should pull Matt Brown and give Rory the Hendro fight.
I heard rumblings that this was the reason that the fight was pulled but I didn't want to say anything until I knew for sure. I'm guessing Helwani and others are in the same boat.
Questions that need answering. These recent test results have shown that the NSAC is seeming less and less capable of conducting these tests in an organized fashion. Testing Jones for rec drugs when that wasn't the order, having Silva's results delayed until after his fight, and now waiting a month to hear about Lombard. Blood tests take more time but if they had the result four weeks ago why are we finding out now?
I'm weary of the eye test. Guys like Barnett and Sylvia would've always passed it. Royce Gracie, too.
Combined with his age I agree. Lombo was always suspect. But most of the guys and girls in MMA are training full time, have good diets, and are supervised by excellent professionals. They should look like superheros.
OMA is saying that the UFC is looking at Det. Jake Shields again. They need an opponent for RedKing. Shields lost to Lombo but otherwise has been doing alright. Shields, of course, also failed a test, supposedly for diuretics. I think we call this the Brandon Vera Resurrection Clause. Edit: actually he admitted he used diuretics.
How bizarre is it that the NSAC is doing a good job of catching guys but also looking like complete fuckwits in the process?
If I was an MMA fighter on the juice, I'd cycle off of that shit right now and pray they don't test me anytime soon.
