QUOTE

Heinsohn Curtails Duties Sep 21 - Tommy Heinsohn and Mike Gorman have been calling Celtics games together for 26 years; they teamed to cover some Providence College games for two years before that. That's longer than most marriages, pointed out Gorman, who has been married 21 years.

But the two will have some break time this season, when Heinsohn forgoes some of the team's road trips to stay home with his wife. In his stead will be Donny Marshall, the former NBA veteran and University of Connecticut star. -- Boston Globe

Donny Marshall? He didn't even play for the C's! I know that former players regularly make the transition from the court to the announcer's booth, but I don't see how you can replace a franchise icon with a no-name NBA journeyman. No offense to Donny intended.

Donny has been filling in for two years, so it's not like they are bringing in someone new.
