Defensive tackle Henry Melton won't reach agreement on a long-term deal with the Chicago Bears by Monday's 4 p.m. ET deadline and will play under his one-year $8.45 million tender, which he had previously signed, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder. Dallas Cowboys defensive end Anthony Spencer also will play the 2013 season under his one-year tender, worth $10.627 million, which he had previously signed, the sources said. Spencer, who had 11 sacks last season, and the Cowboys ended negotiations on a long-term contract late last month. Melton, who occupies one of the key positions in the Bears' scheme, tied for third among NFL defensive tackles last season with six sacks. He also forced two fumbles. In the past two seasons, Melton has produced 13 sacks, second among defensive tackles in the NFL during that span. - See more at: http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/9479057/henry-melton-chicago-bears-play-year-tag-sources
