Henry's Barça Patience Wearing Thin

Thierry Henry has warned Barcelona that if he is continuously played out of position then he will demand further talks after being assured he would be played as a central striker this term.

The French international is prepared to bide his time after a meeting in the summer with new coach Pep Guardiola madea him feel assured that he would be able to play in his strongest place.

That however, was when Samuel Eto'o looked set to leave the club, but with the Cameroonian striker now staying Henry has been pushed back out to the wing and was even left on the bench in midweek against Betis.

"For the moment, there is nothing to talk about," he told reporters.. "But if this continues, of course we will have to talk about it.

"It is true that I had talks with the coach before the start of the season. For me, the talks were clear."

At international level, Henry has begun to play at the same level that won him such adulation during his time at Arsenal, but he admits that he cannot do that at Barça.

"When the ball is being passed around quickly and I have licence to move around, I play," he said of his encouraging performance against Serbia earlier this month.

"And then Gourcuff was playing in a 'Zidanesque' way that night.

"But Barcelona have a well-grounded game plan where you have to respect certain rules. When you play on the wing, you have to stay there to open the game up and wait for the ball.

"It is like that here. You must accept it."
