Figure we can't get Moulson but can get Ott and Foligno in this deal

Ott and Foligno for MDZ, Pouliot, D. Moore and Buchnevich

Either release Pyatt or trade him for a very late pick.

This is the type of deal I think Buffalo would make. They would want to add MDZ to their defense and Buchnevich should be pretty intriguing to them. Call big Mac up and you can sit him sometimes as he gets used to the game for Falk. I like when Staal joins the rush. I think it brings out his best hockey. Put him with a stay at home guy.

    Kreider-Stepan-Nash
    MZA-Brassard-Richards
    Hagelin-Ott-Cally
    Foligno-Boyle-Dorsett

    Girardi-McDonagh
    Staal-McIlrath/Falk
    Stralman-Moore

Everybody talks about adding another big scorer but to me what kills this team offensively is we never have a third line that can chip in 45 to 60 goals a year. I think that line can and it gives us 2 very strong faceoff guys.

That's not a bad deal and would certainly help. Maybe Florida would trade Fleischmann and Goc together.

I don't think we need a big scorer either.

And I don't want to treat Pouliot as a throw in. He has size. We need size. I would of course deal him if he could get us a good player, but why in a deal for Ott. MDZ should be more than enough to get Ott, and maybe a little sweetner also. For our team I would do that to get Ott and Foligno.

A gritty, tough, banging kind of forward we can use, who can win faceoffs as well is what Ott is. I would like a 3rd line with some size like Ott, Foligno and Pouliot.

I bet MDZ and mid stuff can get Ott and Foligno.

I like Foligno a lot. He reminds me of a young Matteau. He's completely wasted on a team like Buffalo.

I like these lines that Dump is proposing except the second line. Again where are the finishers? You can't have those three set up guys on the same line. Throw in a pick or Brassard or another prospect and get Moulson. I would like to keep Brass over Richards but we know the teams wont want Rich because of his contract. I would explore the possibility of trading Richards at the deadline for a pick or another 20 to 25 goal guy like cammaleri.

Unfortunately, I don't think we can fix the second line completely until FA next year after Richards is released or unless Kristo somehow learns to play defense in the AHL this season, moves to wing on the second line.

Next year I hope our second and 4th lines are

    Kristo-Brassard-Moulsson
    Foligno-Lindberg-Dorsett

BTW...I think given the options keeping Richards was the right move, but that dudes best years are way behind him. He is now a 15-20 goal guy who can score 60 or so points. A # 2 C at best. He will be gone this summer no doubt.

For now a guy like Ott would be a nice addition. If we can get him and a guy like Foligno for MDZ, I would do it. Then try and move some spare parts for cap space. Pyatt # 1 on that list.

I wonder if Ryan Smythe would finally waive his NTC for the rest of this year.

I agree. Would finally give us the ability to build a hard third line to play against that can score. Also, would allow the Rangers an option to dump Boyle next year if they think Lindberg is ready. It also creates a spot to bring up McIlrath.
