The Kidd to L.A. rumors have taken legs again, as Steve Hartman reported that Magic Johnson was talking about a trade that would get Kidd to L.A. without giving up Odom and Bynum. Supposedly the deal involves Kwame's expiring contract, Jordan Farmar (I had a feeling we were showcasing his talents to other teams), Luke Walton, and Vlad Rad for Kidd.

Hmm, I can't see a deal getting done without Odom in there, but maybe the situation in New Jersey has gotten bad. Jason Kidd doesn't have high value, as they tried trading him last year and it didn't fall work. He shouldn't be worth that much in comparison to other big name players in the league. I mean hell, look at what Allen Iverson fetched the Sixers. Teams get ripped off when it comes to big name players that they're trading.

*prepares for Nets fans crying rape*

Damn losing Farmar won't hurt that much for the reason that we will still have J.Crittenton.I hope this deal does get done and we don't losr Bynum or Odom in any trade for Kidd.I don't think the Nets will need Odom, but if the trade you posted is for real then we might have a steal.

Bynum is going no where, I wouldn't even take Tim Duncan for Bynum now.

As for this deal, I love it. I hope it's true, but it seems way too good to be true. I mean, Kidd for an expiring contract? A 2nd year player with pretty good potential? That's basically it, there has to be picks involved.

    Kidd/Fisher/Crittenton
    Kobe/Sasha/
    Ariza/Vlad or Luke--whoever we keep.
    Odom/Turiaf
    Bynum/Mihm

I just read that Hartman reported: Kwame, Kidd, Luke OR Vlad, and two first rounds picks for Kidd is the deal that NJ is considering from the Lakers.

Not bad we might actually be championship caliber team, but the only thing is that will the Nets actually pull the trigger on that trade that you posted.

If the Lakers are able to keep Odom, then Luke becomes the odd man out. I'm not sure how NJ would use him since they have VC & RJ already, but that's their problem to worry about.

Kwame + Radman + Farmar should cover Kidd for cap purposes

Vlad, Kwame's expiring, and Farmar when we have Williams? If this happens I'd put Rod Thorn on suicide watch, because there's no way you do that deal if you have any semblance of the consequences of your actions.

Doesn't really matter Bynum is going now here we ain't trading for Kidd if Bynum is in any deal.

What's up with Avril fans comparing their favorite players > Tim Duncan? Is there something in the water?

    Please let that be hyperbole.

2 first rounders sound nice, but it'd be pretty redundant having 2 young PGs.

On a series statement beside any Dallas deal the Lakers have a good offer and I doubt the Nets will get equal value for Kidd if I remember correctly Kidd was on the trading block last year too and teams weren't going crazy for him and giving up there best players for him.

I won't argue against that, but keep in mind that Rod Thorn isn't trying to actively trade Kidd. Yeah he'll listen to offers, and if something comes his way he'll bite, but if nothing happens thats also fine. So there's really no pressure

Jordan Farmar, Kwame Brown's expiring, and Radmanovic or Walton

Wow. This is way too good to be true, so it's not going to happen. I don't really know much about the history of Steve Hartman, so I have no idea about his credibility level. But these so called "rumored" trades usually end up no where. Look at the past examples. We went through the same exact thing before with players like Carlos Boozer (it was supposed to be a done deal), Jason Kidd (apparently we had him but the trade died at the last minute), and in the offseason with Kevin Garnett and Jermaine O'Neal. I think we just have to come to a conclusion that any trade involving "rumors" surrounding the Lakers just will not get done. The trades we have made in recent memory have been sort of "out of the blue." Take the Trevor Ariza trade for example. Nobody had any idea we were even in discussions with him. Take the Caron Butler and Kwame Brown swap in the past. Even the Shaq to Miami trade raised some eyebrows.

I honestly doubt we will land Jason Kidd, especially with this type of package. Given the amount of drama and heartbreaks I had to go through in the past year with this team and trades, I'm not even going to worry about it. If it happens then it happens, if not, then it wasn't supposed to happen in the first place

Yup. I'll take the team's future over A player in his prime right now...Remember, Bynum is only 20.

And Tim Duncan is only one of the greatest PF's to play the game.

Oh yeah, because I wasn't sold on Bynum last year. There weren't reports about his work ethic, his game was kind of stagnant...this year is a different story. He's a gym rat and it's being noticed by the media. He's so dominant down low already, it's almost impossible to stop him from getting a dunk if he wants it...imagine in a year or two when the Lakers are actually getting him touches on every possession? Right now, most of his points come on clean ups and lobs...he hasn't even shown what he's capable of with his post moves.

He's 7'2, solid as a rock, has very soft hands, and is very fleet on his feet for someone his size. His footwork is a thing of beauty for someone his age.
