I bet he is glad to be out of New York. The Jets are really in cap trouble for next year. Herm Edwards will get the cheifs to the playoffs next year

Everyone wants everyone to go to the Jets. First everyone wants Reggie Bush to land there now everyone wants Sherman there too.

I'm flattered that you think I'm everyone.. In all reality Bush will not land there and Sherman is interviewing there. I don't care where Sherman lands but I want him to go somewhere as he was unfairly fired.

I don't want to go to the jets! Then again, I'm not everyone.

I think the Jets should bring back Rich Kotite. I loved Rich's Reign the first time around.

Why is Herm Edwards so high on the Chiefs' list, anyway? It's not like he's exactly done "great things" with the Jets... Yeah, a lot of that has to do with Chad "Don't Hurt Me" Pennington, but I just can't see why KC pursued him so aggressively, gave up a draft pick and signed him to such a big deal?

Maybe because he's a "known commodity?" *shrugs*

Actually, the Chiefs only relenquished a 4th round pick for Herm. Not to bad for a head coach in anyone's book. Herm has a history with Chiefs GM Carl Peterson (dating back to pursueing him for UCLA out of high school), and with the Kansas City organization in general. Herm got his start as a scout for the Chiefs under the minority hiring program, and moved through the ranks eventually landing as defensive backs coach under Schottenheimer (read about it in one of the plethora of articles out there right now). I still wish we had promoted Al Saunders, but things could definately be worse (See Glanville, Jerry or Ryan, Buddy). Hopefully, Herm will be a decent head coach.

KCGSC do you think the chiefs will look at WRs for the first round in the draft?

Why? Did the Chiefs fire Carl Peterson and hire Matt Millen?

I agree that he was unfairly fired.

I also think that Edwards may make the Chiefs defense a force to be reconed with, and with such a good offense they will be good next couple of years.

Chiefs will look at WR but since the drop off from the #2 WR to the #4 isn't that big they could go DT in round 1 with like Rod Wright and take a WR in round 2. The team still needs defense.

With Willie Roaf and Will Shields advancing in age, they had better start thinking about some 1st day O-linemen (instead of all the 5th and 6th round projects we've been accumulating). Trent Green is close to the age where an understudy wouldn't be a bad idea either.

I was happy with Sammy Parker's play more and more as the season went on. He could learn to be a little more precise in his route running. His drops were coming down the more he played. Hopefully he will pan out. The Chief's would be wasting their time on a first day WR anyway, who was the last one that panned out? Has one ever panned out?

Herm is gonna have probly one or two good and easy years in the beginning. He inherts a great team, but a very old one. He is gonna have to get young free agents and young players who can replace the aging stars. If he can do that the age wall that that they are bound to hit wont hurt as much.
