More salt in the wounds of the people that can't get comcast or comcast sports net, which would not include me. Sports package ftw!

This has nothing to do with the Blazers separate regional TV rights deal with Comcast sportsNet, what it does mean is that if you live in the Comcast service area and area subscriber to their basic level, digital service you are going to get NBA TV (woohoo for me! :wink).

YOu get nbatv automatically if you order the LeaguePass. Or you can get it as part of a sports package for $6 a month. Now it will be just part of the basic package.

The second the regular season ended, they took away NBAtv for me. Apparently you only get the channel along with league pass, during the season.

This thread reminded me that Comcast had sent out a letter re: NFL Network. Evidently there were issues in their negotiations and the channel was temporarily unavailable... so they offered subscribers free Starz for a year or an internet speed upgrade for a year for free.

I called today and--even though they have since made a deal getting the NFL channel back--we still get the freebie, and as a result I'm currently watching "Planet Terror" on cable.

    Thank you, SportsTwo! :)

Directv is moving NBATV into the regular packages and out of their sports package this fall. It will be in the 200's the same as NFL, MLB and other major sports networks. This is good news for me because I won't need to subscribe to the sports package to get NBATV anymore. Sorry, to change the subject but it is sort of related and FUCK Comcast!

Yea you will like it too because the NBATV Blazer games have a much better picture than the comcast sports northwest channel. If you really want to have some fun, watch the same game being broadcast by both stations and flip back and forth. Clear. Blurry. Clear. Blurry.....
