...interesting. ...edit; ...though I lobbied for Rios before the trade deadline, the flexibility that Drew, Headley, and Prado have given them in the IF and OF, I gotta believe they'll stand pat with the position players...unless, of course, they move Ichiro. And I don't see that happening because all around, I consider Ichiro and Rios to be for the most part, a wash.
Gardner, Wllsbury, and Ichiro is a damn good outfield unit, I too was in on Rios but since the Yankees picked up Prado makes them shitting in tall cotton.
"shitting in tall cotton" haven't heard that one in decades, since I lived down South....! good one....!
And unfortunately with his power shortage this year I honestly don't see him ever getting the kind of money he's accustomed to.
I find this kinda strange, Rios, is available, why did Texas wait til after the trade deadline......guess cuz they aren't gonna tender Rios a high offer, perhaps...? Still I'd pick him up for 2015. Even tho' he will never duplicate his numbers in Toronto (but then who ever does, ie, A Jay traded, will always have better numbers in that Homer Dome). Could as 59, stated be a total wash.....but then I am a Ichiro Fan....yep, I said it....!
...matts, I gotta assume it's because Texas thought they could get more for Rios before the deadline...they evidently were asking too much because they reportedly talked to multiple teams about trading Rios...just a guess. ...rick, I think maybe part of the reason Rios' HR production has dropped is because he no longer hits in a stacked line up...and is not seeing as many good pitches as he accustomed to...also just a guess. The fact is that no one on the Rangers is really hitting many HRs and their total puts them 2nd to last in the league. http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/batting/league/al/sort/homeRuns/order/true
