He's only ever submitted once in his career despite having eleven losses, and that was his very first fight.
In the UFC you probably have to give it to the champ, Minotauro Nogueira. His wins over Cro Cop and Sapp are demonstrations in patience and pain absorption.

Let's not forget the beating that Big Tim was giving him, before he locked in that submission. Tim Sylvia was beating the pant's off of him before that happened.
