Vince had 71 dunks in 2008 which was 38th in the league. He had surgery today and should be fine by training camp. Will we see vintage VC in 2009 dunking fearlessly on whoever he wants? How many dunks do you think he'll have next year?

BTW Sean Williams was 48th with 61 and he bearly played.. This kid has a future

Doubt it. He's not 25 anymore; can't jump like he used to.

yeah its really funny huh [IMG]

but i think so. of course its all speculation, but if a 1 legged vince can be in range of kobe bryant, who was a great dunker this year, i think a 2 legged vince can show some great dunks like he used to.

i see at least 1 great dunk in Europe over vince's new play thing, dalembert.

Vintage VC is a thing of the past, and will never be seen again. What we can expect next year though is more dunks by VC, but less impressive ones.

But I think his acrobatic layups will increase, as his athleticism and hops are slowly deteriorating.

If we're talking about the ridiculous stuff found on Toronto mixtapes, no. If we're talking about him ferociously dunking on people, well we got that last year. DJ Mbenga you know what you did.

I hope he doesn't. I hope he adapts his game MJ style.

    Plenty of people can.

I didn't mean he becomes like MJ. I mean that he realizes that he lost (or is losing) his athleticism and instead of relying on it to be effective, develop his game more, for example, get a better midrange game or become a more consistent finisher at the rim, not necessarily with acrobatic layups or dunks :>

Just because he doesn't jump quite as high as he used too in his younger days, it doesn't mean he's losing athleticism. He's still one of the best in the game.

You're missing the point bud. It's not about only jumping as high. He's not as explosive, not as quick laterally or off the floor. It happens to everyone, in every sport.

Hell, there's even a good joke about it:
"When you're young, you run after the bus. Once you hit that 3-0 you say 'Ah screw that.. there are other buses'"

    I totally agree with you.

You can also compare him to Kobe's game too. Maturity is the word. MJ was a hard working player always trying to improve his game. Wasnt it last summer that he decided to finally work a shooting coach?

Who would have thought VC would be this type of player out of college? Imagine if he put a little more effort in improving his game. What type of player would he be now?

Not a big fan of VC, but hopefully VC learned from this Kidd fiasco.

i used to be caught up in wondering whether or not VC would ever dunk like he used to. But after such a horren dous season, I had more important things to worry about concerning this team. I don't necessarily care whether or not Vince dunks on ppl like he used to, so long as he remains effective and plays with heart

I still think Vince cant get up there, maybe not as much as before, but if he plays with heart and a passion next year I think we will see some amazing plays.
