<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Magic will waste no time seeing how Grant Hill's left ankle handles the NBA grind. They open the preseason Oct. 12 with a back-to-back, and Davis says he plans on playing Hill both nights. It will be his first game action in 21 months.

Hill has been cleared to go full tilt. The Magic will monitor him, but Davis wants "an idea the load Grant can handle" before the season begins Nov. 3.

Davis doesn't want Hill popping in and out of the lineup (see 2000-2003). He is projected to start but Davis may rely on Hedo Turkoglu. Given Hill's history, I don't break him out of the bubble wrap until the home opener.</div>
    Full Story

Well there we have it, apparently he's ready to go at full strength.

As much as I'd like to believe it - I just don't see him lasting a full season. He has yet to prove us differently so why would it change this year?

I say run him hard in the pre-season. If he isn't going to last, I'd sure like to know sooner rather than later. Even though I somewhat agree with Ice, I'm hoping for the amazing comeback (what a boost that could be for the entire nba). I envision the day when my son watches old espn classic reels of Grant's miracle return (in 2010). That would be sweet.

He could last a whole season.it's possible, but I don't see it happening. He's had time and time again to prove is he still had it in him and his dertimination now is big but I still don't see him lasting a whole season, returning as close to his old self as possible. I'm not downing him out just yet,he could prove me wrong, but for now i just don't see it happening.

I don't see the point of this.....trying to run him ragged in the preseason.

He's going to get injured again this year, count on it. So why not just save him up to try and win some regular season games before his unavoidable injury?

Because if he gets injured after only a handful of games (I cannot remember the exact number... like 12-20), then we get cap relief. Otherwise we get squat.

Grant Hill playing on both games is okay but let's not rush things off... even if it's preseason, no more than 30 minutes each game... and let's do this gradually.

I agree with the time factor everyone here is speaking of... no more than 30 minutes etc. We do need to play him though, and I mean really play him. He doesn't want to be babied, and I firmly believe that we shouldn't.

Grant Hill has gotten injured at inconvenient times historically. If the Magic number (haha) for cap relief is 20 games, he will undoubtedly get injured after 21.

Well at least we've been progressing in this forum.. Few months ago he wasn't even going to get to training camp, now he might not play a whole season.. I wonder what would it be after he does? He won't play two straight seasons..?

For some reason this "comeback" I believed in.. since half-way through last season. Hill is going to share the Point with Franchise and SF with Hedo.. Read people then Post your opinions.

I really think G. Hill will be playing in the post season this year, he really has put so much into this comeback, well over a year of intense rehab.
Don't forget how talented this guy was, he was being hailed as "the next Jordan" as a rookie; now he may not have surpased that plateau, but to just be in the comparison shows how much talent he has.

Grant Hill for Most Improved Player!
