The surgery, which was performed on Wednesday, will prevent Ward from beginning offseason workouts for about six weeks. The 31-year-old Ward missed three games this season because of the injury, including the regular-season finale against Baltimore on December 30. He caught 10 passes for 135 yards in Pittsburgh's 31-29 loss to Jacksonville last Saturday in the AFC wild card game. Ward recorded 71 catches for 732 yards and seven touchdowns this campaign. The 6-0, 205-pounder has 65 TDs in 154 career games - all with Pittsburgh. A 10-year veteran, Ward has a team-record 719 career receptions and only had missed three games due to injury prior to this season.
