<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>Julius Hodge has put all his eggs in the Nets’ basket. While the other unsigned summer league star, Jaycee Carroll, has decided to go overseas to Italy, Hodge has officially broken ties with his old Australian team, the Adelaide 36ers. “Julius is going to explore (NBA) veterans camp and the chances are he could be tied up until mid-October,” his Aussie coach said. “Then he might make the team”. Hodge played well in the Rocky Mountain Revue, shooting 65.4% from the floor.</div> Hodge Shuts Door On Australia - NetsDaily Well, this is a nice development, and would be a pretty good acquisition now that Carroll is overseas. It'd be a nice low risk/high reward type of thing, especially with our need for a backup wing
Without Carroll his odds are better at making the team. I'd like to see Livingston and him duke it out in camp for a roster spot, but I think Livingston will get a one year guarantee and he probably won't be in shape at the start of camp either.
I wouldn't mind both Livingston and Hodge on the team. One of them or both of them won't be in a uniform for most of the games (except if others are injured of course) , but it would be nice to have depth there. I'd still say Livingston is a good enough PG with a bit of SG, but not exactly a combo guard. Same with Hodge, though his PG skills are much less. If/when we move KVH, Hassell, Ager, Sean or Boone, we can pick up another big, and then we'd be good.

Not a great shooter, but otherwise a fine third guard.
