Of course the Indians in Peter Pan are pretty derpy to begin with, so i guess it doesn't matter?

I don't think it has anything to do with race. I think it has everything to do with money.

Hollywood is extremely reluctant to cast anyone that isn't a proven commodity. This has led to a complete stall in the comedy genre. All comedies are made with known stars like Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, and Will Ferrell.

Similarly, they want to cast known actresses in big roles and there simply aren't any known female American Indians. Shit dude, think about the men they cast for American Indians. It's like the same two or three dudes every time. Hollywood doesn't want to branch out at all.

Also, it's rich old Jewish guys in Hollywood.

I didn't watch those awful Twilight movies, but weren't there some Injun women in those movies? I'm sure the crowd they're trying to get with this movie would recognize some of them.

Wasn't the main Indian character cast as a Latino though?

Actually, now that i think about it, the main Indian guy in that movie is actually a white guy too :MARIS61:

Should have cast 40 something year old Adam Beach as a teen

Dragonball Z, Airbender, and Lone Ranger were pretty horrendous so it's not like it's a winning formula all the time.

I don't think Taylor Laughter (however you spell his name) is white though.

I can't think of any Indian actresses off-hand that would be suited for the role.

    Maybe that's the problem.

And why no outcry when Eddie Murphy plays a woman's role? Plenty of better actresses were available.

So a white person can't play a person of another race? I thought race wasn't supposed to matter?

Oh, wait, there's money in hypersensitivity...

My favorite is James Bond's "Japanese" disguise in "You Only Live Twice". He shaved off his chest hair, wore thick eyebrows and a brown wig.
