<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The New Orleans Hornets announced today that they have acquired guard Shammond Williams from the Orlando Magic in exchange for center Sean Rooks</div> Rooks wasn't getting any play time in New Orleans, so this trade might be for the best, especially for Williams, who gets out of a losing situation in Orlando. Shammond is a great shooter and decent playmaker, a nice third string point guard. If he works out, look for Bryce Drew to get cut. http://www.nba.com/hornets/news/swilliams_040219.html
I love Shammond Williams , I'm not dissapointed he got traded because I hated the fact he didn't get any playing time in Orlando. He is awesome you'll see him play.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting starman85:</div><div class="quote_post"> If he works out, look for Bryce Drew to get cut. </div> I like Bryce, but I don't know how he's managed to continue cashing an NBA check for this long. He probably doesn't belong in the NBA, but he'll always have NCAA March Madness fame.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post">Being stuck behind Davis and Armstrong will hardly improve his playing time.</div> I don't think he ever played PG in Orlando..he always came in for T-Mac whenever he played. He is a SG also , and West is injured right?
^ I agree, Shammond Williams has always been a combo guard (except at UNC where he was a pure SG). I can't predict the extent of his impact for the Hornets, but I suspect he'll be a nice fit for that press defense of New Orleans...the more speed the better i guess... either way, Rooks wasn't doin much for the Hornets, so the worst thing that could happen is a push....(unless Rooks miraculously turns into a Hakeem clone )
lol , Rooks is a 12 year veteran in the NBA...he is listed as injured but I'm sure he is there to teach Steven Hunter and Zaza Pachulia how to work down low..help them on defense..
Sean Rooks was a waste of space. He is garbage. Now they have someone useful in Shammond.:-D Good move by New Orleans.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TMac_OwNz:</div><div class="quote_post"> and West is injured right?</div> West isn't injured, Wesley is injured. And yes, Wesley is a shooting guard, so Williams will probably get most of his time at the 2 since the Hornets often go with a small guard lineup.
