<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">New Orleans Times-Picayune - The New Orleans Hornets have signed Lithuanian shooting guard Arvydas Macijauskas to a three-year contract.

His agent Marc Fleisher believes he will be a good fit for the team.

"We looked at a lot of teams, but we thought New Orleans is a great place where he will have an opportunity to hopefully contribute right away," Fleisher said. "I think he plays a very exciting flamboyant style of basketball, and I think he will be a huge crowd favorite."

"He's the best shooter outside of the NBA, and a lot of people in the NBA would tell you that he probably would be one of the two or three best shooters in the NBA," Fleisher said. "He's phenomenal at the foul line, and he gets there frequently. He drives very well, and he's much more than an outside shooter. He can put the ball on the floor and can go hard.

Macijauskas is expected to start for the Hornets at shooting guard with J.R. Smith moving to small forward.</div>

    THE ARVYDAS MACIJAUSKAS FILE

Damn, I was hoping the Lakers would end up with Macijaukas. He would be perfect in the Triangle offense because he is a lights out shooter. JR Smith moving to SF should be interesting next year.

Macijauskas is one sick sniper! I just don't know how will he fit in NBA, because in Europe he played like shooting guard, but I gues he has enough skills to play the point too....

Mcijauskaus is going to be big for the Hornets long distance threats.... they now have him and J.R to bomb away from downtown. I would rather see him on a different team though, a team that has a dominant force where he can get open looks.

JR is already bad enough on defense, It's going to be tough for him to matchup with Shawn Marion, Lamar Odom, Carmelo Anthony etc.

I think The Addition of the European Guy will help some what but will not be enough for a playoff push

There were rumors of the Bulls getting him a while ago... Nice signing. Widely considered one of the best shooters in the world.
