The possible deal would involve the Hornets trading center Jamaal Magloire to Toronto for the Raptors' picks at Nos. 7 and 16. No other players have been mentioned in the trade discussions, sources said. </div>

OMG, Babcock better not do this deal!! [IMG] If we're gonna trade the first round picks, we're at least going to need their 4th pick with Magloire.

Hell no. Unless we get the 4th pick, then that's just absurd.

Are you on crack? I mean I like Magloire too, and he'll be a nice addition but at what cost? A 7th and a 16th pick is way overpaying for a center that will average no more than 11 ppg and maybe 10 rpg at an age of 27. I wouldn't say a word if we give up the 16th pick, 06' first round pick and some money or an expiring contract for Magloire, that's a done deal. Look at Baron Davis deal, they gave him up for practically nothing and it just seems the Hornets are looking to make up for that mistake.

That trade would be great for the Hornets. It wouldn't be bad for the Raptors. Magloire is a quality Center & it keeps Bosh at PF. But I don't think he is worth both picks, maybe if the 2nd pick was a little lower it would be good but the Raptors won't be hurting if this trade happens.

I hope that Babcock DOES NOT DO THIS TRADE! I will never forgive him, even though I love our Jamal Magloire, we can't give up our picks and our future to make playoffs for one year and miss the next 5... We need a swingman and pointguard of the future to make playoffs in future years!

I hope to acquire Magloire, but we must not be hasty and unintelligent in doing so. Magloire acquired by Raptors in 07 free-agency!

Agreed. Let the Hornets become desperate to get rid of Magloire and then we'll talk. [IMG]

If I were the Hornets I wouldn't really risk this. They already have a high pick that they can get good young talent with and Jamal Magloire is the only real proven all-star on their team.

    Idk...

Terrible trade if the Raptors did it. I'm happy no one here is overatting Magloire because he's from TO, but Magloire is a good CENTER, but only an average player at best. Let's be real here, his highest scoring average is 13.6 PPG, he's an average defender at best, and a below average shot blocker, and he's a good rebounder.

Not anything bad, but 2 first round picks for that? It's gotta be a joke...

yeah i think its ridiculous that theyre even considering two first round picks in the same draft for magloire. hes valuable but its not like hes allen iverson or something..i want him to be a raptor but thats just too much..it should be like our 7th pick a current raps player... plus hes still a little hurt from that injury..

No way in hell... and NO CHANCE IN HELL if we had a smart GM, but knowing Babs... who knows what's going to happen.

If this trade happens even thought I live in Toronto, I will hate the team.

Didn't we just trade Vince Carter for these draft picks? The last time I checked Magloire had nowhere near the trade value Vince or these draft picks have.

No he is not bad. Everyone give the guy a break. He's only made 1 bad choice since he started and thats even debatable since Hoffa still has time to be something.

The trade is not going to go through because its ridiculous. No way Babcock or any GM ever would consider that deal. I doubt its even real because i dont think any GM in the league would want to look like such an idiot for calling Toronto up and offering that piece of trash deal. More than likely it will be 1 first round pick and a second, or the 16th and denvers 2006th, or 1 first round, possibly 1 second round and a swap of other players favouring Toronto financially. like Murray for an expiring, or E. Will.

I heard on the Fan 590 that the deal is Mopete, Aaron Williams, and a first rounder (not sure which one) for Magloire.
I don't like either trade. It'd be better if we exchanged picks, because 2 picks in this year's draft are really valuable.

I agree, Babcock has taken too much heat. The Carter trade was a double edged sword. While we certainly didn't get equal value, we got a draft pick for what looks like one of the deepest drafts of all time, officially put the franchise in Bosh's hands, and our key players got better once he left. Mo Pete, Jalen, CB4, etc. I was watching Raptors TV and Babcock looks like he knows what he's doing for this draft. I am confident he will make 2 good choices in the first round, and maybe he can another good 2nd round player. (Pape Sow last year)

I'm sure Babcock will do fine tomorrow night. This might have been a set-up to throw off the other teams on guessing what the raptors might do.
