Armstrong, who was signed by the Hornets as a free agent on July 29, 2003, averaged 10.6 points and 4.0 assists in 93 total games for the team. This is a great move by both teams. Darrell Armstrong will make up for the leadership Steve Nash provided in Dallas, and gives them a veteran they can count on in close games down the stretch. For the Hornets, they are going no where this year, so their best approach is to start developing their younger players and figure out a way to build around them and stock up on draft picks. I expected the Hornets to overhaul their team sometime this year, but not this early. I imagine PJ Brown will be next to get shipped off for some younger players or cap space.
What's going to happen with Baron? I guess the best bet would be to surround Baron and Magloire with other youngsters. Or will the Hornets overhaul the entire team?
I've liked Harrington ever since he was a rook. He is a great player with lots of potentiol. Glad to see his going to get more oppurtunities to show what he can do.
?This trade is a great example of how we will continue to make every effort to improve our team." - Hornets' owner George Shinn Huh? Now we know why Baron and Magloire want out so badly. I don't see how this is a great move for the Hornets. Besides making their roster look like one from the CBA, they should be trying to win games. They are in New Orleans after all. How many more seasons will it take before the NBA forces Shinn to sell?
