George Shinn said he has been working with the NBA for several weeks to see if the team can play its first home game of the 2006-07 season at New Orleans Arena. "We're trying to get it accomplished, and it's something I want to do for the city," Shinn said. "I think it would be great, and I'm definitely working with the league to have our opening night in New Orleans." The league is pleased that more than 80 percent of Hornets' season-ticket holders from the 2004-05 season have purchased the six-game package offered in New Orleans for the upcoming season, Shinn said. The Hornets will play 35 games at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City this coming season. </div> Link
