Just got home from the game. Because of my awesome ticket, I was right in the huddle with the Blazers and I did my best to listen to Stotts. Apparently, we have a play called Hot 34. During a timeout, he asked them to run it when they had a chance. Next timeout, he reminded them to run the play and then stopped himself and asked if they did run it. And Aldridge cleared up that they haven't but that they would, as best as I could make out. I don't know what the play is though. Any guesses? Anyone would inside info? It was one of the most fun nights of my life. You all know how passionate I am about the team and how I watch every minute of every game. To have the players right in front of me all night was amazing. And during the last timeout, a row of us Blazers fans all sang Happy Birthday to Nic and he applauded us.
Could it be the Alley-Oop play? And you better have sung it in french! Glad you had so much fun! How much are seats that good for a team that's not doing well, anyway?
We sang it in English and someone said he didnt know it in French. I realized I of course do (Bon Anniversaire) having studied French for SEVEN YEARS but the moment had passed.
That would be "joyeuse anniversaire" (the song). That's pretty cool you guys sang that to him. I'm sure he appreciated the love.
Hot 34 would mean most likely mean this A play that gives the final passer two options depending on the defensive players reaction. Either to a corner 3 or a pass at the basket (Hot) PG, SF, SG all cut from one side of the floor to the other, most likely under the basket, in a zig zag motion (3) Ball is swung opening the lane for PF to receive a pass at the basket either as an alley oop or a chest pass for a shot at the rim (4)
