WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Sad thing is.. it had to be on the same day as the big MNF game, so they won't get talked about much. And the Yankees won a game, so they will talk about that for five hours on Sportscenter. So the it'll say that the Twins won and then go on about the Yankees. Oh well, that's cool. We deserve this more than any team. Gardy for Manager of the Year (probably biased, but if we win the division it should happen considering no team should blow a 13 game, or whatever it was, lead). Boof is on fireeeeeee.

yeah. the mets are good. but w/o Pedro, they have no chance against a lineup like the Twins (with Morneau/Mauer) let alone against the Yankees.
Pedro has all the time in the world to recover. We're in no hurry. He'll be back in time for at least the second round if we make it.

He just needs to rebuild his stamina and so that he can pitch 6 Innings because the Mets have one of the most dominant bullpen's in baseball so we only need 6 solid Innings from him. Im not too concerned, Pedro will be just fine.

Only good teams the Mets have played are year (Red Sox and Yankees) they are 3-6 against. The Mets will make it the WS series probably not losing a game (unless they start Perez who is HORRIBLE). But after that, doubt they'll do anything.Three of the four playoff teams in the AL have a better record than the Mets, and the Tigers and Yankees are 10 games better than the Dodgers (2nd best team in the NL). I think if either the Twins/Yankees/Tigers were in the NL, they'd have their 100 wins already. The Twins may not have AMAZING record vs those teams, but if the Twins get homefield advantage, they should be 'Good to go'. They are 2-1 vs NYY at home, 6-4 vs DET at home, and 5-1 vs OAK at home. Not to mention Minnesota lost only twice to NL teams and they were both on the road. So we aren't the best road team no, but not many teams are. And we may have the best homefield advantage. Well they do have the best homefield advantage. It's not a maybe, it's a for sure. Their record at home (better than anyone else in baseball) should prove that.

The only reason he is even starting is to rest our starting pitchers a bit as we are scheduled to play our last 33 Games in only 34 Days, so we opted to go with a 6 man rotation, plus we opted to go with him Instead of somebody better like Dave Williams hoping he could work his way out of his slump, as he was Dominant for the Pirates just a couple of years ago. He has no chance to even make the playoff roster.Second of all, The Mets were 5-4 in Interleague play until the Mets hit a slump the final week. The Mets took 2 of 3 from the Yankees at Shea, and would have swept them if it wasnt for a Meltdown by Billy Wagner in a non-save Situation. The Mets also took 2 of 3 from the Toronto Blue Jays who may very well end up finishing ahead of Boston. You can act like the AL is so superior in your Circle-Jerk Session with the Yankees, A's and Tigers fans all you want, but don't look past the Mets otherwise the AL is going to end up losing the World Series.

u cant have Pedro going 6 innings...u need him and Glavnie to go deep. Because you cant count on Duque and ur young guys to give u a lot of innings, so u need to save ur Pen for those games. Thats what i always loved about David Cone. even when he was older and not as good, in the playoffs, he would ALWAYS reach hte 7th or 8th ining, with the game close. He was great to eat up innings to save our Pen.

God forbid we have to use Chad Bradford instead of Guillermo Mota in the 7th Inning of Game 4. :whistling: My main concern is the starting pitching after last night though, Pedro looks bad and like he doesnt have that confidence he normally does. If thats the case I dont want him pitching in the Postseason at all, Maine has been good enough this season to be deserving of a start in the Postseason.
Exactly Venom. Everyone on the bullpen excluding Billy has had more innings thrown than the year before. Theyre all workhorses and are used to pitching a lot of innings. All of them have special abilitys which makes this bullpen so special. Are we getting Duaner back though?they said done for the season but not playoffs. i think i asked this b4.
ur SP is truly garbage, which is a shame because ur Bullpen is so good, and ur lineup is so talented. You have 2 aging stars (pedro and glavine) who can barely pitch, 1 random guy (Duque) and young guns. I think u may have to wait a year or two.
