U.S. House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner said his chamber will not block a Senate deal to raise the U.S. debt limit and end the government shutdown when it votes on the tentative agreement later tonight. In a brief statement, Boehner said his Republican lawmakers would continue the fight against President Barack Obama's health care overhaul and for fiscal responsibility. "But," Boehner added, "blocking the bipartisan agreement reached today by members of the Senate will not be a tactic for us." "We fought the good fight. We just didn't win," Boehner said. U.S. Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid and Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell announced a bipartisan deal earlier Wednesday to end the 16-day shutdown.
