Since nobody have done the game preview here and it's too late to do so I'll just start this thread. BTW good preview by linkin on their TWolves forum.

Final Score: Houston 119 over Minnesota 113

Another spectacular performance by the Rockets. If the last game we won on assists this time we won on rebounding, on the offensive mainly and can you believe it we only have 5 TO's. All the starters are in double figures again with TMac, Howard and Yao having double-doubles. Although it's al little bit scary on the dying seconds of the OT where the Rockets missed 3 FTs it's a good thing luck is on our side. TMac has 40 pts again.

Sura's such a ballhog i mean he nearly cost us the game trying to be the hero.

Yea but sura made a three to redeem himself in OVERTIME. He made a lot of crucial plays for us though.

Sorry about the lack of the preview, a member of the Preview Team wasn't able to make it. I promise this won't happen another time this season.

As for the game, great win. Yao, Howard, McGrady and Sura had great performances, although Wesley is still having a tough time hitting shots. A 23/14 performance is what I'd like to see from Yao every night. He also put up 19 shots, which is what we need him to do as well. I didn't see the game, but how come Weatherspoon has moved ahead of Padgett in the rotation? He played 15 minutes and Scott played 5, and probably would have played more had he not fouled out.

I guess Van Gundy thought he would do a better job of guarding Garnett than Padgett. Weatherspoon is a bigger player but is still agile enough to guard Garnett so that was probably the reason why.

Anyways, it was a great game. Houston should be getting this much offensive rebounds regulary- it just shows that in this game, they hustled. The starters all had great games including McGrady and Yao of course. I just hope this surge of great playing doesn't slow down, but instead bring us a couple more wins. Great job Houston.

This was a big win. We beat the T-Wolves who are not far behind from us in the standings. This game counted as 1 full game so thats good.

It was a succesful road trip winning 3/4 games.

Yeah, Flip Saunders went really small most of the game, and JVG doesn't like putting Padgett on 3s defensively. And when Yao was out, he had to choose between Mutombo, Weatherspoon, or Padgett to guard Garnett and play center. I think Weatherspoon was the sensible choice.

Wow!, what a game! we won a thriller in overtime! our whole team played perfectly! Yao scored 23 points and had 14 boards, Juwan had 13 points and 14 boards, T-Mac had 40 POINTS and 13 boards, Wesley had 15, Sura had 20 and 4 assists from Strickland off the bench, this was a game to remember!

I watched the game..Wesley's shots go in when his shot selection is good. But when he took shots in motion, (fade-away, or drives in) while being defended, he usually misses them just like any other role player would. Wesley's spot up shooting usually go in though 3 pointers or when he has space to shoot. He's also a quicker defender than jim jackson.
Oh and as for weatherspoon and padgett, I think it's van gundy's decision tactics wise. Some teams maybe weatherspoon matches better than padgett against the opposition which is why he plays spoon instead of padgett. I think minnesota guarded the 3 point line really well which is why we played more minutes with inside players such as spoon and howard rather than outside shooters such as jon barry and padgett in this game. A win against lakers would make a great week of rockets basketball!

Please refrain from posting 1 liners, I can't speak for everyone but they incredibly annoy me and make our forum look like we're full of unintelligent people who can't think of anything to post so we just write the first thing that pops in our heads...

On topic - Sura did hit a 3 in OT, did you give him any credit for that? and if Sura is a ballhog then you're basically saying our whole team is full of ball hogs.

I missed the game and am really only going on this tread for information on the game. Its great t osee teh rockets back in the roll of things like they should be. If we continue these performances against the Wolves and other teams we'vep layed well against (such as the Spurs) we have an outside chance of making the conference finals.

    Bobby "BallHog" Sura! :(

I watched the game and Bob Sura IS a ballhog!!!! [IMG]

He doesn't pass it to Yao when Yao has position, just looking for his own shots. In the final minutes before T-Mac made the game tying shot he was looking for his own shot and missed. That's just not the right way to play, look for your superstar first..... and yes, Old Sam was owning his ass making him look bad but you don't have to retaliate by making unnecesary shots. [IMG]

He's not a true point guard, should learn to pass the dish more and stop trying to be a super hero! Leave that to T-MAC or Yao. :bball:

Also he got a T for arguing with the referee about a blocked shot KG, duh! Stupid! Who do you think you are? [IMG]

Rockets play a much better team game when they are all passing like John Barry not 1v1 type of game. I guess that's why Pistons traded Sura because they know what type of player he is. Not suitable as a team player. [IMG]
