The Wizards are the worst team in the league and it appears on paper that Houston has a way better roster than Washington. However, the Wiz did beat Houston at the MCI Centre last season and the Rockets have to play with aspiration to avoid being defeated. They must not look like the team that lost to the weaker Celtics two days ago.

Yao Ming needs to have a big game and get more shots than the five he got on Sunday. The Wizards have nobody inside to contend with Yao and Houston has to look to pound the ball inside on almost every posession. Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley must be willing to pass the ball and the Rockets have to cut down on their turnovers. Jim Jackson and Kelvin Cato have been playing well lately and must continue their stellar play. Last but not least, Maurice Taylor also must have a good night off the bench as he is the only inside threat the Rockets have besides Yao.

With the Rockets' inconsistent play of late, it is quite a risk to say they win by a big margin, but this game will be too easy for the Rockets to win. Rockets by 4, 88-84.

Rockets got a much needed win over Washington 93-80. Yao Ming had his first double-double in a while with 21 points and 11 rebounds to go along with 2 blocked shots. Steve Francis had a stellar night and finished two rebounds shy of a triple double, although his 7 turnovers is reason for concern. Cuttino Mobley and Jim Jackson had 16 points each and Kelvin Cato and Maurice Taylor had 12 and 10 points respectively as the Rockets had 6 players who scored in double digits. The Rockets also outrebounded Washington 44-31.

Washington dropped to 10-26 and Houston improved to 21-16 as we have now drawn level with Dallas for sixth spot in the Western conference. The Rockets are now 11-4 against Eastern Conference foes.

Well im pretty happy with the results of the game. I would like to see the Rockets play more of that solid defense. Its a good thing we aquired JJ, because hes gonna teaching these guys how to play D. Its coming along, and houston no doubt will make the playoffs, but past the first round is probable. I like to see the rockets make a roster move before going into the playoffs. Eric is not the sharp shooter the rockets needed, he is not playing like he has a touch at all. I think all that losing made him a good shooter in LA, but not Houston. Maybe the rockets should offer a package deal to Hawks like for Stephan Jackson. There is nothing right now in the freeagent market worth spending some money on. But would They really let Jackson go, Houston would have to throw Cato in the trade, something like Cato/EricPike for S.Jackson/Dickau/Mohammed Sounds like a pretty good trade for both teams, and gives the rockets some much needed parts before the 2nd half of the season, More Defense and Perimeter shooting....... What you think? Only thing is Taylor at a log jam at the powerfoward position, but i think Weathspoon can get back healthy and play good at the position come 2nd half of the season. Just a trade suggestion, but i think are team is just fine if not..., we do need another center and a pg. Later........
