    How about 2 "Next Jordan's"

Lamar Odom, Chucky Atkins, and a 1st round draft pick for Grant Hill and Jameer Nelson? Could Grant Hill be the Pippen for Kobe Bryant? Than Jameer could take over at the point and help The Lakers ralley into the future perhaps? Orlando would get a younger player in Lamar Odom who would provide a little more size. Chucky Atkins would provide leadership and expierence, and the 1st round pick could help Orlando with it's depth issuses.

Maybe it's just me but I would love to see how Grant Hill would play off of someone who possesses the skills Kobe Bryant does. Not to mention the the leadership he would provide, bringing this team back together because Hill and his stories and battles demand respect. Perhaps he could also humble Kobe Bryant and pass on the lessons he's learned over his career. Jordan and Pippen? Than a young Jameer Nelson could finally become a starter somewhere, certainly the college player of the year should get the chance to perform at this level. Move Caron Butler for a Power Foward or just start Cook or Mihm at PF if Vlade sticks around. It would sound good to me...

I don't like this trade. Although Hill has stayed relatively healthy all year, I still don't think his ankle is very durable.

Odom is also more versatile and athletic than Hill, starting Odom at his natural spot would really help him.

Then you factor in losing Chucky and a 1st round pick (possibly Raymond Felton) for Jameer Nelson? No. I don't care about losing Chucky much, but the pick that could possibly be Felton is awesome. Felton has awesome court vision and can knock down the 3. He plays D, that is what the Lakers need...an all around player like Felton, not another scorer like Nelson.

Interesting trade, I think the duo of Kobe and Grant Hill could really work. I also like Jameer Nelson a lot. However, I think Odom and Chucky straight up would be enough to get those two players from the Magic. The Lakers should be able to retain their pick, but it's Mitch Kupchak so he probably gives in. This trade only works if the Lakers can get a workhorse powerforward out of the deal as well. Maybe the Lakers can re-open talks with the Jazz to get Boozer for Butler, George, and Vlade again.

    PG - Jameer
    SG - Kobe
    SF - Hill
    PF - Boozer
    C - Mihm

Hill's healthy is a question mark, but at least he shows up every game and is a class act all around. Boozer would fit in perfectly on the current Laker squad, plus the Lakers would still have 4 picks to replenish the bench.

I'm going with Kobe 8 Ball on this....if we make a big trade, it should be for some front court help. This is a good year to draft a point guard, so the Lakers can obtain quality at that position with their pick, and use Odom/Butler as bait for a quality big.

Why not go for someone bigger than Hill? YOu are also risking and gambling on Hill's longivity...
I don't know which beasts would be available by the offseason tho..
