Golden State trades: SF Mike Dunleavy (11.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2.9 apg in 31.2 minutes)
SG Jason Richardson (18.1 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 3.4 apg in 36.3 minutes)
Golden State receives: SF Corey Maggette (18.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.5 apg in 35.2 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -10.6 ppg, -5.6 rpg, and -2.8 apg.

L.A. Clippers trades: SF Corey Maggette (18.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.5 apg in 35.2 minutes)
L.A. Clippers receives: SF Mike Dunleavy (11.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2.9 apg in 31.2 minutes)
SG Jason Richardson (18.1 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 3.4 apg in 36.3 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +10.6 ppg, +5.6 rpg, and +2.8 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Golden State and L.A. Clippers being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Golden State and L.A. Clippers had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Sure, we lose JR but we also Dump Dunlabotomy. BUT IT WOULD NEVER GO DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even Dunleavy Sr. knows his kid sucks, one thinks he might be coaching here if his kid wasn't here.

You know... I would actually do that trade. Maggette goes to small forward, Pietrus to the off-guard. I think his Dad would probably laugh in our faces with that trade. Besides I don't know if real GM factored in Jrich's real salary which starts next year I think. We cannot trade Jrich because of that amount he gets.

I think we need to try to build with what we have by adding players that will fit with the likes of Jason and Troy before we destroy it by trading something like Jason and Mike for Maggette. If we want to bring in a PG to go with Jason and Troy then I'm all for that. If we want to bring in a big man to go with those two, then I am for that. But just to do a trade to do a trade isn't going to work. Also the Clips won't want Jason's contract so they wouldn't do it even if it worked cap wise.

You know, look at the Suns. They don't have any one player that is pure dominant, but they compliment eachother very well. While Jason Richardson or Murphy might not be able to carry a team on their backs to the playoffs, I believe they can be players if put with the right players in the right system that could make an impact.

When it comes to making trades the Warriors should try to make trades for players that can start and compliment these two players, or try to trade for a superstar. Other than that, I don't know...Should we bring in Jason Kidd and put some of the future in jeopardy, or do we go with what we have and just add through draft picks and maybe a few other trades none as big as the Kidd deal?

I see what you're saying, but essentially I just see the trade as Maggette for Jrich. Jrich has more upside of course, but Maggette has a lot more things I like to see in a player. For one he is also willing to get to the line, but the difference is he can hit his free throws. Another is I think he has better touch on his shot. He's a way better defender. We'll probably have the most foul prone wing players in the nba with him and Pietrus but at least we'll have the most hard to stop coming from the guard/forward spots. The key is defense here, not more plays where Jrich is shielding his assignment to the right when that players happens to go right anyway because he is right handed.

Whether people like Richardson and Murphy or not, we cannot trade them for at least couple seasons. I am not too sure about exact rule, but since both players signed extensions, those will certainly effect their trading status, if it's even possible. I think receiving team must have an enough caproom to accomodate their new extension. Then next year, they become BYC, so only 50% of their contracts counts. In other word, trading them in two years are virtually impossible...

We're doomed in other words because history will repeat itself a la Antwan Jamison.

I'd love it, but it would never happen. Maggete knows how to get fouled and can make his free throws. A good line up with Maggete would be:

    pg:Speedy Claxton
    sg:Mickeal Pietrus
    sf: Cory Maggete
    pf:Troy Murphy
    c: Adonal Foyle

I'm still ticked about Foyle because we could have gotten Chris Mihm way early in the season and guaranteed him a starting position. When he eventually got to Laker land it wasn't clear whether Vlade or Brian Grant was going to start over him. Mihm was known as a scoring center that can block shots and rebound, why wasn't Mullin or any of his guys scouting him? Centers are so hard to come by and they missed out. I don't even think he's aware of some of these players to begin with. Like why wasn't he looking at guys like James Jones from the Pacers instead of Jonathan Bender, and Jumaine Jones from the Lakers who had little value because of lack of playing time. These guys are underrated. Find the jewel Mullin! Start doing your homework or get guys that know how to scout out talent.

Jamison is thriving with his new team.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting trenchteam:</div><div class="quote_post">Jamison is thriving with his new team.</div> Way to rub it in, fella. You don't understand, we basically gave away Jamison for nothing because Mullin had too many high hopes on Dunleavy being able to take the helm at starter right away. Jamison could get you consistency, foul calls and post play on any given night and Mullin (probably not ST. Jean) traded him to Dallas for injured players and no talent. History will repeat itself when Richardson's time is near when Mully decides we need to clear capspace again and give away Pietrus and he'll get replaced by some "high basketball iq" idiot favored by Mullin that can't nearly play as well as Richardson or Mickael Pietrus. Way to go Mullin let's play favorites and overlook talent and undervalue players.

Well. I am glad that Jamison will probably make an All-Star this year. Not only Wiz is winning, his only competitor at PF spot is Walker and maybe one of Wallace. Actually, I am quite surprised at Jamison. I thought Arenas would be no. 1 guy, and they might even be in trouble, because Arenas wouldn't share the ball with Jamison. Not only they coexisted so far, Hughes is playing pretty well as well. Well, they are our half baked alternative future, so I can't help but rooting for them...

At least Washington's success proves that the Warriors would have made the playoffs the last couple of years if they were in the east.

As for the trade, I'd take Richardson over Maggette. Maggette may get to the line more right now, but Richardson't ball handling keeps improving, and as it does, he's going to get to the line more.

And if he gets to the line more, he won't make his free throws [IMG]

I'm sorry I'm always critical of player's offensive skills unless they have some sort of defensive game.
