I definitely rebuke the last paragraph of this article, and the next to last paragraph, ie, "Sometimes I feel the Fans are a little too hard on Brian Cashman" (not my words, the articles), ...

rebutt: Bull fkng shit, Yanx Fans expect perfection, reload time again, yet this very GM is one of many reasons, the Yanx needed to rebuild to begin with, Tadpole is not exempt either.... hard my ass, when you run the world's most incredible Team, we expect perfection every fkng day, that is the precedent/norm; anything else is not worth repeating.....

Or- "Cashman proved why he’s considered one of the best general managers in baseball".

    rebutt:
No Cashman is NOT considered one of the best GM's in the game, Gene Michael (was); Sabean (was), Dombrowski and Epstein are, (of more current times)....

Overall- our GM did his job, and didn't do bad, he did good, but not GREAT; (great, can only be determined in the years to follow, as these individuals pan out and become stars or has been's)....

and- yes, He landed some very interesting and probably very good talent. Thank God Nova is gone, but why not Pineda, Headley, Gardner, Ellsbury, and a couple of others.....???

...Cashman is the GM and is the one who put the Yanx in the mess they are in now and ultimately must be held accountable...he was forced to make the recent moves only because his chickens from the past had come home to roost.

Translation; "I totally fucked it up, oh well, let's just blow it all up and start over". This approach is fine for the Twins or Padres or Rays, but it is unacceptable to most Yanx fans unless they are complete and utter homers.

Cashman should have been fired along with Torre after that 2004 calamity. As far as lauding his recent handling of players the sun shines on every dogs ass some days.

When these kids produce on the parent team, then and only then should Cashman get any grades.
Face facts these trades had to be done and only when Hal saw for himself that this team was going nowhere.
Trading known players for future unknowns rates Cashman as 'great'. Give me a f'kn break. Knowing
this GM, he'll probably trade some of these kids for that herald "major leaguer" coveted by many teams.

^^^ This...highly touted prospects are good on paper but I've always been of the opinion that I'd rather have players who have already proven they can produce on the MLB level and help your team now in lieu of prospects who may or may not pan out in the future.

...just because you have some youngsters on the farm does not mean you can't use them to smartly acquire established players. (keyword; "smartly")

After acquiriing all the hired guns the last few years and seeing how that has worked out I'd like to go back and do what we did in the early mid nineties with another young core and then supplement that with a couple of experienced players. As much as I dislike cashman he did a good job in acquiring some young highly touted prospects and I look forward to seeing the youth perform and excel starting with sanchez coming up tmo shortly followed by judge and austin and with frazier and others arriving next year and the year after. Finally something optimistic to look forward to

...Jeter, Andy, Posada, and Mo were a once in a generation core...doubt we ever see anything like that again, But yeah, even back then there a blend of FA veterans and youngsters.

...not sure where they'd play...the highest rated of all of the newly acquired youngsters is a SS and for the foreseeable future bot SS and 2B are covered...and with the rise of Judge and Bird RF and 1B are covered...plus Headley and Ellsbury and Gardner have 3B and CF and LF covered for the next 2-3 years anyway.

Clint frazier should be up sometime after next years allstar game to relieve gardner of his duties in LF. Heller will be up shortly to take over one of the set up spots

One last comment........to all those who have been kissing this guy's ass with praise for all the
years, "he" personally, put the Yankees into the post season. Let's check:

2015. Lost to Astros in AL WC
    2014. No playoff games
    2013. No playoff games
2012. Lost to Tigers in AL CS
2011. Lost to Tigers in AL DS
2010. Lost to Rangers in AL CS
2009. Won the WS vs Phillies
    2008. No playoff games
2007. Lost to Indians in AL DS
2006. Lost to Tigers in AL DS
2005. Lost to LA Angels in AL DS
2004. Lost to Red Sox in AL CS
2003. Lost the WS to Marlins
2002. Lost to LA Angels in AL DS
2001. Lost the WS to Diamondbacks
2000. Won the WS vs NY Mets

So, in 16 years, Mr. Cashman aided the Yankees to 2 World Series. Not bad for some
teams; not good if you represent the prideful Yankees!

Can't find the damn thing now but this am I heard two sports jocks interviewing Steinbrenner asking some very direct questions about the status of A-rodham and other goins on. Old Hal seemed pretty evasive to me. One direct question was that despite the recent trade success should someone be held accountable for the mistakes of the past. Hals answer was well we knew the farm system was a little short a few years ago. Sorry Hal, I know you pay the freight but if fans fail to show up your freight gets seriously shorted. I think after seeing that game in Tampa old Hal started to realize he's been fleeced more than once. Go on Hal, sack up and release A-rodham, kick Headley and Ellsburys asses and fire Cashman.

After watching "House of Steinbrenner" and listening to the tadpole's ramble, Hal esp, is a lot like having to watch early 80's Trump bs. Never cared for the way he presents himself, coming across as a half wit, with a deer in the headlights look.....

then take into account this piece of time: (and I wonder if the Kidz could of even held onto the Team that King George I of Yorktown, bequeathed them, one of 4 billionaire's who died in 2010, NOT TO have to pay estate inheritance taxes, to the tune of half a billion plus...

I can't help but hear, "do you feel lucky today kid".... and fail to see the fire of the spirit of King George in Tadpole's glassy hollow eyes...

Lmao.....You really rattled off a litany of failure.
By the way, how many other individual teams and GMs were "failing" that often and to that extent?
....or did they "fail" BEFORE the post season arrived.
    Lmao

...is there anyone else here who really gives 2 shits about the success of any other team besides the Yankees?
