How did your Moniker name come to be?

It was definitely for Przybilla haha, I just googled Vanilla Gorilla to see what I could say it was based on. I can't find a trailer or any pictures from the movie but apparently Pierce Brosnan was in it so I went with that. It also happened to come out the same year I made this account. Also, I liked the idea of having albino gorillas as my avatar.
 
Mine is simple theft of a random name that a few of us on olive trolled another poster with. This guy was supposed to be some highly thought of draft pick with almost super powers, and of course the trolled poster had to inform us that he was well aware of him..ahh, the days of old.

The only other troll name I played with was SlowPokeyDog..Sly would troll a tad and I loved to respond in kind, mind you I was never as accomplished as he was..

So for me, I have always liked the star constellation Orion and one night back in CO about 18 years ago, a buddy and I had a bottle of baileys open playing guitars under the stars and the name just came to be and has been my musical name ever since. Orion Bailey.

Gotta say Orion, when I initially saw this thread my first thought was WTF?? But it's been very interesting. Nice job! I'm waiting for Mags to check in. I'm betting his name means he takes mole hills and magnifies them into mountains.....
 
Pretty boring for me, really. I live in the largest city in Oregon and root for both of the state's major colleges. Therefore, I am a Portland Platypus. Truncated to 12 characters for the same reason as Wookee. When I migrated over here, I never thought to expand it.

Honestly, I thought I would get laughed off, but I also thought it would be a god way to help us get to know each other a bit better as well as form some unity with all the disagreements about who the Blazers have and what we should do with them. I thought this thread would remind us we have more in common than different with our fandom of the Blazers. :)

I thought it was awesome to meet so many of you the other night. Trying to bring us closer I suppose. :)

Well since Mags is one of the few main regs left that hasn't informed us. Let the speculation begin!!!
 
D69 and I were big Draft, CBA and trade geeks. When I first joined the now defunct HoopsWorld forum, Bob Whisitt was the GM. He was known as Trader Bob and some of my friends had referred to me as Trader Bob Jr when I went on a trade/salary cap/draft rant. TBJr seemed odd so TBpup it was. Most people think it stands for Trail Blazer pup which is kind of cool it worked out that way.

Moniker story part deux: A note on my old board name "Baracuda74" It came about the day after I had learned the riff from the Heart song Barracuda after watching the video on VH1. The next day I was at my friends house playing his guitar when his little sister called. He had just got the guitar so his little sister asked if it was him playing, and he replied, "no that's Barracuda!" So his whole family started calling me Barracuda after that. I worked with him, his brother, and his father, so people at my workplace started calling me Baracuda as well. I ended up spelling it wrong (with one r) the first time I used it for a board name (which may have been the Oregon Baseball Campaign website) so I just stuck with that.

I got bored (pun unintended) of using Baracuda74 for everything so I first changed my Steam name to GriLtCheeZ, not even realizing the gaming culture tie in with "cheesers". Someone told me it was a cool gaming name so I started using it for other stuff. I once had the nickname "ass" but I decided against using that one.
