Re: How do you rank the SG's? Going by what I've read, Nick Batum is probably the best SG in the draft. But after that it's anyone's guess with: Marcus Williams, Derrick Byars, Arron Afflalo, Marco Bellineli, Nick Young...where do you rank these guys?
Re: How do you rank the SG's? I can't say anything about Batum, because I've never seen him play at all. All I know about him is that 2 weeks ago he was nowhere to be found on NBADraft.net and now he's up in the lottery. That same thing happened with Thabo Sefolosha last year, so maybe he's another unknown gem. I also don't know much about Belineli (although I hear a ton of good things). But as far as the college players listed, I'd rank them in this order: 1. Marcus Williams 2. Arron Afflalo 3. Nick Young 4. Morris Almond 5. Derrick Byars I had to throw Morris Almond in there (dynamite shooter, can score in bunches). But I put Williams at #1 because of his versatility. He's so talented, he can play both guard positions, I think he will be very similar to Jalen Rose in his prime. Arron Afflalo is going to be a very serviceable 2-guard for a long time. He works hard, he's a very good perimeter defender, and he's a serviceable shooter. Nick Young is a scorer, not much else though. If he can add to his game, we could argue him at #2, but he's nothing more than a scorer right now. Byars, IMO, has been blatantly overrated on mock drafts due to his play in the tournament, but he'll be a solid player.
Re: How do you rank the SG's? Actually, Batum has been on NBAdraft.net for about a year now.. Now he's starting to get alot of attention because of his international play, and his play against the USA. http://youtube.com/watch?v=fgcDNhAtFpkhttp://youtube.com/watch?v=VHBUoVgHKs0&...ted&search=
Re: How do you rank the SG's? I'd put Byars ahead of Almond because Byars is more of an all-around package....Morris Almond reminds me so much of Michael Redd. I agree, I'd put Marcus Williams first and Young behind Afflalo.

I've seen an article about him, but he has never been high on the mock draft at all. He wasn't listed as a first round pick a week or two ago, and I'm not even sure if I remember seeing him listed on the mock period. I'll check those links out though, thanks.
Re: How do you rank the SG's? I've known about Nick Batum for a couple years, obviously a hell of an athlete with great size and the comparison to Joe Johnson seems accurate. He's been a very highly rated player for a while.
Re: How do you rank the SG's? I just watched those videos, and he seemed to move pretty slow. Maybe it was just the quality of the video, but he seemed to move slow. I can't give a true opinion on him, because I haven't seen him play in a real game, but he looks to be a tad bit sluggish. He's obviously got great size and length, and he does have an athletic looking body. We'll see.

Re: How do you rank the SG's? Morris Almond is a complete scorer. Some people may say he's one-dimensional, but that guy just absoulutely LOVES to score the ball. Michael Redd is a pretty good comparison for him, as well.

Re: How do you rank the SG's? I'm assuming Rush is going back, I should have put SG instead of wing, but the players I suggested in the first post are all generally SG's.

EDIT: BCB, thank you for getting rid of that homo sig.
Re: How do you rank the SG's? I haven't seen anything from foreign guys, but from college players, Young, Afflalo, and Williams are definitely the top three. I absolutely LOVE Nick Young, he's going to be a great player in the NBA IMO. I'm not that high on Afflalo, but there's no doubting he will be a good/servicable player in the NBA too. I'll go:1. Young1a. Williams3. Afflalo
Re: How do you rank the SG's? I think Marcus Wiliams is the best.Marcus Williams reminds me of a more athletic Reggie Miller (without a more limited shooting touch which he makes up for with driving) or a stronger Kevin Martin. Not only is a good penetrator where he will get lots of baskets due to the frequencey of fouls (could see near 9 free throws a game for him) but he is also a very good passer and ball hander which makes him an even more dangerous player. His defense and shooting could still use some work but he is ready for the NBA and is going to be a very versatile player. The sky really is the limit for Marcus Williams.
