so how far will th sixers go this season playoffs no playoffs i see them losing in the first round this year
Ahh, you never know with the new coach and AI's new beginning. This season could possibly be a magical one but then again the Eastern Conference is now probably as good as the west these days.
This is the way I see it anything can happen. Most people see these 'champions' as skill and all that, I mean I do too, but its a God given talent. No im not trying to bring religon here, but this is somthing to think about. The ONLY reason Malone went to the Lakers was to win a ring. Point blank he didnt get it. Anything worth earning is worth having. I just dont think he desreved it enough and somebody agreed with me. but thats all I have to say on the Malone situation. Then most you all think, "well the east cant stand a chance in the west" answer this question.. where is it in the future said that Shaq, Duncan, Kobe etc wont all have some kind of accident, where they are out for the rest of the season. Okay im getting to religified here, all im sayin is anythign can happen including the Sixers going undefeated(I dobut it will happen but it can)and winning the whole thing. I would love for it to happen cuz im a sixers fan but I doubt it, all im sayin in this post is dont doubt anything. ps Dont jump on my case im just makin a point pps I think the Sixers will make it to the Semis and loose in 7
don't jump on your case c-mon man philly will go all the way i have faith in my team. Philly is going to rebuild quickly and Ai is going to be part of it. Holla
Hopefully we will make it to the EC finals..but we have to get past the pistons and indiana so we will probably get knocked out..in the 2nd round and it probably be the pacers to do it in 6 or 7 games...and like dee said anything can happen..who would have thought that shaq would be on the miami heat or Tmac on the rocketts...so good point dee
The east is rebuilding really fast, and is trying to take away the championships from the west, I see it totally being an east supremacy in around 2-3 years, this year someone out west is going to get it IMO. With that said, it will be harder on the Sixers now more than ever, with an aging superstar, and few role players, who knows what's in store for our team. I hate making predictions like this, but I will just this once. I predict they reach the 2nd round, and lose in five. Allen Iverson is not capable of running this team by himself as he once did, the guy is what, 29-30 years old now, and is injured every year, serious or not serious. He needs key players to dish the ball to in times when he is not capable of performing to his fullest, we have tried doing this, to insure his presence since he came into the league, and nothing has happened. I hate to say it, but unless Allen gets another superstar player next to him in the next 2-3 years, he will not win a ring.
The Sixers have a pretty weak roster, with the exception of Allen Iverson. Sasha said everything that was necessary. In the end everything will boil down to the simple fact that he needs another superstar. If the Sixers make a few trades, or have certain players break out, they could make it to the playoffs. Being that the east is so weak, it won't take too much for them to make it either. Things could get interesting, or they could have another disappointing season. We'll have to wait and see.
The "experts" will say that the Sixers may make it to the playoffs but will not advance past the first round. However, they have young players who are on the brink of becoming stars or becoming nobodys. If they become stars, the Sixers will do very well this year. Otherwise, the pits.
I think we have potential to go far this season,if one of our young players has a break out year and can give 20 points a night then we could go further,I think AI is determined to have a better year and is already excited about next year,Coach O'Brien is already getting to know the players and is making big descions and is trying to build chemistry with the Sixers. So to me the Sixers have almost every thing they need to go far, they have a developing center that is destined to be a star,a great defensive stopper AI 2,a solid back up PG in Eric Snow,an under rated player in Kenny Thomas, developing player in Green,Korver and Salmons,a good shooter in Big Dogg, and then a star in Allen Iverson, this team could go places IMO.
How are you expecting 20 points a game from our young players, and our young players being whom? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting dond:</div><div class="quote_post">The "experts" will say that the Sixers may make it to the playoffs but will not advance past the first round.</div> Why does everyone rely on an experts advice, doesn't anyone here listen to themselves, or draw their own conlucsion?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Sasha:</div><div class="quote_post">How are you expecting 20 points a game from our young players, and our young players being whom?</div> I never said I was expecting, anything I said if/ when one of our young players averages 20ppg is when we will go far into the play offs.
To point that out is absurd though, especially in this timing. In my eyes no young player on our roster will blossom that quickly, and put up numbers like these they will need much more time.
>>>In my eyes no young player on our roster will blossom that quickly, and put up numbers like these they will need much more time. Oh really ! In "my eyes" I think Willie Greene is ready for that right now. Especially with a "fire and fall back" type of offense that OB seems to be building. Willie Greene is going to start and will get many, many shots and all he has to do is make 10. Remember, they are not going to pass the ball around for 20 seconds on every possession. They are going to put up the first good shot. Willie should thrive in that atmosphere.
How is he going to be ready for a fast paced starting position when he has never experienced such a thing? He is still only a second year player, to put that much on his shoulders is too much IMO. He will be starting with a new coach, and the summer league, and preseason, practice games are not enough for young players that get a starting position, and have such a big role to contribute to the team.
If AI stays healthy for the sixers. I see them going possible to the eastern conference finals. All they need to make me believe is one big signing this off season. Dampier or walker or someone else besides the big dogg to back up AI. I was a big supporter of the glenn robinson trade to bring him to philly, but after he was hurt all year I say no espcially since we have a good rookie player coming in that plays that spot and john salmos really showed me something last season. When he scored double digits the sixers won over 50% of those games. I would like to see a trade of glenn robinson to the warriors for dampier in a sign and trade deal along with some contracts to make the deal work out. He would offer a quality big man for the sixers also allowing them to improve something they were near the lower 20's of the league in in rank rebounding. He averages a double double so he can get you alot on the boards. Along with kenny thomas there front line would be increadable with iggy, and dalembert and salmons they would have great depth. Also if DC stays that is a good six man rotation for the front court. Then you have a healthy AI in the back court with a young guy with alot of talent in willi green. With there back ups being mckie and korver that would be a good team that could go far if heath is maintained. And with O'brien as there coach instead of a coach like ford who had problems with AI this could be the start of something big for the team.
DC's contract will be bought out, if not he will be traded. The organization is not considering him playing for us next season at all.
