So I was looking at the pre season laker games and i was thinking to myself 'How many games can the lakers win?' I think about 76 games. Just looking at gary payton adjust o the point so well and karl malone helping shaq in the frontcourt and kobe bryant on the wing doing spectacular things this team would only have to show up to arenas to win games! What Do You Guys Think?
76-6 would be amazing. However, the big question will be the situation with Kobe Bryant. If he's found guilty they will less, and if he is innocent, you have to wonder how fast he can get back in shape and how he will deal mentally with his affair. I expect the Lakers to win 60-65 games this season.
Just to be on the realistic side... 1. Kobe is out of shape and has other things on his mind. 2. GP & Malone are still getting used to the triangle. 3. PJ said the biggest dissappointment so far is Devean George because he came in expecting to be a starter. 4. Lakers still have to prove they can compete in the 2nd of back-to-back game nights. (Notice they were blown out in the 2nd preseason game) I'm thinking 60ish is more realistic.
They wont win 76 games even if kobe plays the whole season. They will probbly will win about 60 games!!!
Its like this its too much hype around them, all the hype means its not what its hyped up to be. im sayin 59-63
I think LA is the team that can either win a ton of games, or end the season with a disappoint record. All this depends on the following things: 1. Kobe Bryant and his situation 2. Payton and Malone - will they make an impact? 3. Team Chemistry - will there be chemisty with so many stars on one team? How will everyone be happy? These three things, along with injuries, will determine if the Lakers can win 60 games, or end the season with a losing record.
Im guessing the Lakers will win about 57-62 games. On paper they're a great team but they have troubles to deal with. If all goes to plan they could beat Bulls record but I can't see that happening. I dont think they'll get the best record in the West but will definitley have homecourt advantage in the first round.
60 odd is more than possible...but the west is so damn strong right now...60 games will likely be the limit. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">this team would only have to show up to arenas to win games!</div> If that was their attuide then the Lakers are heading for under 50 wins and a first round exit..
I think they will get about 58-64 wins. But I think they'll be closer to the 58. Remember last year, with all the hype, Kobe's jacked, Shaq will be better than ever after surgery, and we're set for a 4peat. Well they lost. this year looks the same, there was all the hype, then a bad incident(kobe this year, Shaq not getting surgery til too late last year) All the other top teams in the West have improved, having to play against all that tough competiton there's no way they in more than 70.
60 at best. Lakers got too many problems to deal with but either way, they still have the best talents in the L.
Theres so many things to consider with the Lakers this year. If Kobe plays will it give them more wins..or could he hurt the Lakers? Hes already said that basketball isnt his number one priority. Plus hes lost weight and hasnt worked out all summer. Then you have GP and Malone. How will team chemistry be? Will they share the ball? Shaq is beginning to age, and has he gotten back into shape? If all goes well then maybe they could get 60-65 max If things go poorly then maybe 50-55 games. Plus after all the upgrades in the west this offseason things are getting even harder.
i will say that they could have a good record like with the 70s but it all goes down to the chemistry of the team will gp and malone adjust to the lakers and will they share the ball. i think they could still good even without kobe but it they would do better with him

[/img]</div> You truley are stupid if you think they will only lose 6 games... you obviously have no idea how hard that will be... you fail to realize they will have to play the Kings 4 times, the Spurs 4 times, Wolves 4 times, Mavericks 4 times. Thats 16 extremely tough games then they have to play, then there is always upsets, and you only think they will lose 6? You must be crazy...
