Just out of curiousity I was wonderng how many of you people on the Memphis Grizzlies forum, were fans of them when they were in Vancouver. I was a fan for the first 5 years or so. I started losing passion for the team when my real team, the raps started winning and got in the playoffs with VC.
Yeah I used to like the Vancouver team. I loved the teal alternate jersey's they had. Those were sick.
I actually hated the old Vancouver Grizzlies. My least favorite team at the time would have to have been either them or the Nets. Oddly enough, my favorite player (Kidd) was traded to the Nets that year while the Grizz moved to my hometown. Since then I've become big fans of both.
I never liked the Grizzlies, not when they were in Vancouver nor when they were in Memphis. It's just that Canadian rivalry thing between my hometown team, the Raptors and Vancouver.
I liked Vancouver, growing up I liked only Toronto and Vancouver solely for the fact that they were in Canada, and I had gone to one of each teams games when I was 11. I don't like Memphis though, I don't know why, I just don't.
I was a huge Vancouver Grizzlies fan. Still like the Grizzlies, I still consider them my team, but I dislike Memphis and openly wish they would relocate to Vancity. If that makes sense.

The grizz are well supported here.
^ the reason they moved to Memphis was cuz nobody went to their games, and Vancouver wasn't really a hoops town then and still isn't now
The average attendance in Vancouver was higher the year they won eight (8!) games than it was last year, when they won 50. Of course interest in the team is going to feign after they announce that they're moving. They were some of the worst teams ever assembled, might I add. The NBA lockout sure didn't help things, either. Neither did the fact that they weren't allowed to win the draft lottery (yes, not allowed. For six years, or something like that) no matter how bad their team was. Neither did the fact that the team was sold a number of times, and that Eisley had never had any intention of keeping the team in Vancouver, and made that fact very public after buying them. The Steve Francis debacle also soured a lot of people. In short, you don't know the half. According to your logic, they moved because nobody was going to their games. Then why the **** would they move to Memphis, where attendance is lower and the team is infinitely better? Memphis is one of the worst, if not the worst basketball city in the league. The team just won 50 games, and is among the most exciting in the league. They were 25th in total attendance, averaging 15K fans a game which is 70% of capacity, second worst in the league. If you're saying they're better supported in Memphis, then you sir, are an absolute moron.

While I was praying for the team to come here, in the back of my mind I knew we'd never be able to draw big crowds. Afterall, our city is pretty poor, the population is just a little bit over a million, and the majority of the people here don't even like basketball. The best place to put the team would have been either Saint Louis, Charlotte, Columbus, or New Orleans. The only thing we can offer the team is a new arena the city can't even afford. I admire your loyalty though. If the team ever moves from Memphis, I think I'll still have their back as well. That unconditional support seperates you from the bandwagoners.
I have always been in love with the grizz. I loved big country abdur-rahim and bibby. I don't know why but I have been a grizzlies since the begining, I still love them now.
