The Bobcats rebuilds improved to quickly. They went from expansion team terrible to .400 ball by year 3. Charlotte maintained sub-mediocre purgatory for 2 more seasons, instead of losing on purpose like the brilliant GM's do. Charlotte was only getting #9 draft picks, instead of the upgraded ping pong experience like Portland. The Bobcats dealt with some injuries, but made moves and created a playoff team in year 6 of their rebuild. The winning & fun contender basketball lasted 1 season. Injuries hampered their team, and the Bobcats dropped below .500 the next year. With the 2011 NBA strike en route, the Bobcats cleared the deck and re-activated full tank mode. The new rebuilding Bobcats messed up again! Charlotte got too good too quickly, and were back in the playoffs by year 3 of their new new rebuild. Winning sucks, what were they thinking? The Bobcats mediocre team cracked the playoffs one more time in 2016, after reclaiming their Hornets name. The new court design and pimped out jerseys added delightfully refreshing zing to Charlotte. Happy fun basketball. After Charlotte's B2B "rebuilding too quickly" mistakes, the Hornets lingered in partially bad mediocre purgatory for 6 straight seasons.
