he's an expiring contract, thats it. It's going to be up in the air to see what he's worth...who knows what teams are going to go into cost cutting mode at the trade deadline. Worst case is he just goes off the books next year and gives the Nets a little room to work with.
Actually I think that's the best scenario. Unless a superstar comes along, I would just let Swift expire this year, and Simmons + Hassell next year. There's nothing wrong with it.
I think he can be good if he gets minutes and tries hard but he wont, his whole career he's been a bust and thats not about to change. He's a good expiring that may get us another player. I hope we trade him for someone like Memphis for maybe a Trenton Hassell and Sto for Darko. That would good and free up a roster spot along the way.
In order for that to happen^ he would have to completely change his mentality for next year. But how can you expect him to change now while he hasnt done it in 9 years is it?
like is said he won't be good but we may get something valuable and defense and size at the center position.
The difference between Jeff McInnis and Stromile Swift is that McInnis was a cancer and Swift isn't assertive enough to be a cancer.
Besides his potential (how many years has he been in the league?), why do people like this guy? The only positive he has going for him right now is that he comes off the Nets books.
Hey, it is time for every one of the posters in here to be HONEST!!!!!!! The Swiftie for Collins trade MAY HAVE BEEN the worst trade of the Rod Thorn Era (error).
Deke should never have been bought out. He could have contributed plenty to the Nets, but Scott was a moron that couldn't figure out how to use him
