how we forget so quickly.. kobe is STILL the man.

enough of this kg talk, and tim duncan talk.

come on.. who's been on fire since the all star break.. since the 2nd half of the season..

this is where the real talks begin. this is where the mvp voting gets decided. in the second half of the season, where everything matters most. the first half all you have to do is be consistant enough.

kobe's stepped up already.. dropped 40 tonight on the suns.

if they (the lakers) can put together some massive winning streak.. as i figured they would .. going 73-9 this season.. ;0. ok, so i was wrong on that.. but they know they're better than everyone else.. it's time to bust out.

a lakers win, and a 40 pt kobe night on an all around perfect game.. that's just one early birthday present.

kg and duncan will never be the prolific scorer that kobe is. and kobe gets the rest of the stats too, and most importantly.. the wins. 4-0 since the break. 33.5 ppg since..

let's not forget.. while kobe is on his tear.. shaq is getting his numbers too. [IMG]

    kobe for mvp!
(yes i'm still praying.. got robbed last year!)

Yes, Kobe has been on fire since the break. Everyone knows Kobe is STILL the man, for people who don't watch Laker games, they determine his season on his low numbers this year. The key now is, he's finally got his legs back to where he wants them to be, all his explosiveness to the hoop has improved greatly, and it's showed in the 2nd half of the season. He has been bothered by injuries for some of the year, and I honestly think he has never gotten on that rythm yet this year, and his time to finally lead the Lakers is now. He will be the one that pushes us to make that run for the championship, and prove the media wrong that he can lead this Laker team with some help.

Kobe's numbers 4 games through the 2nd half: 33.5 ppg, 7.5 assists, 6.5 rebounds. Amazing.

As far as MVP, I don't know about that. I personally think KG has that on lock, he's been playing unbelievable ball this season, and has the numbers to prove it. You can make a case for TD or possibly Kobe if he keeps that up, but that award belongs to Garnett if he can keep up his play, and lead his team to victories like he has been.

I don't think he was robbed last year, he had the numbers for sure, but the Lakers record wasn't good enough. Part of that being Shaq missed periods of time due to injury, not being in shape, etc...

BTW, it looks like Kobe has got that bank shot down, doesn't it?

Do you have KG's stats for the second half, as a comparison? He's clearly the man, IMO. By a mile.

Why would we need KG's stats for the 2nd half? He's been the man all season long. What KG is doing in the 2nd half, is probably what he's been doing all season. This is the begenning of Kobe's breakout, that's why stats were pointed out.

I knew this was going to happen in the 2nd half of the season. I could see it coming in the ASG when he had a wide open chance for a spectacular dunk, and laid it in instead. He means one thing- serious business. So rest of the NBA, prepare for the Kobe explosion. I'm gonna go out on a limb (but not too far out, because it's gonna happen) and say that Kobe's gonna finish the season top 3 in scoring. Mark my words, put it in your sigs, whatever. I said it. TOP 3.

Kobe's maturity really built up his game. The ASG showed he can still play D like nobody's business, look at how well he steals. As far as offense goes, he'll always be good at that, even from three point range, he seems to have such an even better inside presence as well, he still makes shots in traffic and getting knocked up. I gained a liking of him this year, even if he isn't MVP, there's one thing that'll never change on how he provides for any team he'll be on, he'll always be good.

Ok Kobe is definatly not KG...but he is up there within top 3 in the league in my opinion...and next year I think with a new team he can be top 2 along iwht Kg or duncan...He has been HOT in the second half and shows no sign of slowing down.

im not laughing at kobe, hes a good player.

im just laughing at anyone and everyone that really thinks that hes better then KG and TD

and if anyone was robbed last year, it was Kevin Garnett. Not saying he WAS robbed, but that if anyone was robbed, it would have been him.

Who ever said he was better than KG? okafoever simply stated, forget all the KG TD talk, because it is time for another player to get noticed for MVP. Do I think he will win it, or that he deserves the award? No, but if he continues to play well and the Lakers record improves, it's possible he'll be a contender.
