Has anyone noticed that Dwight Howard has always seemed to be ahead of Emeka Okafor?-The Draft. Dwight goes number one, Emeka is drafted second.-The 20/20. Dwight does it first, Emeka does it last night. What could happen in the future?-The All-Star Game. Dwight will probably make it, or start before Emeka.-The Playoffs. Dwight's team is on pace to make it. Emeka's team? :thumbdn1: It's just something to think about. Emeka is always overshadowed by Dwight. This could become a nice little rivalry once both teams make the playoffs.
You're completely right. The funny thing is, I remember on draft day I was desperately hoping that the Magic would pick Okafor over Dwight Howard. At the time, Dwight was a high school kid that I hadn't heard of, and Emeka was a college superstar who had just won a national championship at UCONN. I was pissed when we went for the high school boy, but now I couldn't be happier.I think this year will be like one of the things you mentioned ... Dwight will make the All Star team before Emeka. D12 COULD start as early as this year, depending on whether or not Shaq is still hurt. Also remember, Dwight would be starting regardless if they would have listed him as a PF. He's second in All Star voting to Shaq, however, Chris Bosh is the leading East forward vote getter. Dwight has over 100,000 more votes than Bosh.
Okafor has a few things over Howard. He has a higher bpg average and a higher career high in that category. He also got the ROY over Howard in '05.

Howard also had like 3/4 more of a year to develop then Okafor because of injury last year. Both however are very similar in their inconsistent play.
Emeka Okafor should be putting up better numbers on a charlotte bobcat team with like no scoring options. Dwight Howard has better numbers and hes not the #1 option. If Dwight Howard was on the Bobcats, he'd be putting up more then 20 points.Okafor however has been slowed down by injuries early in his career. So he hasn't really had the oppurtunity to establish himself to do things like a "20/20" game. This is pretty much his first healthy and consistant year. He's finally getting into things and hopefully he can stay healthy.

He'd still be ahead of Okafor though.
