Howard is one of two players the Orlando Magic are considering for the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft this week, doing his best Saturday to win their confidence.

"I'm the man for the job," he said after a one-hour workout at the RDV Sportsplex in front of coaches and front-office officials. "I'd carry the team right now. I know it's going to take me time to get used to all the banging and just the physical play, but I'm ready to make an impact right away." </div>

The Magic personel took some x-rays of Howard, and the doctors are convinced that he can still increase vetrically. It's amazing to think that in a couple of years, he could be a 7-footer with guard skills.

Sounds to me like Howard is a legend-in-the-making...

I wish they would draft howard imo he will be better than okafor. He is 6'11 could play the position that we need most center. Okafor isnt really a need for us he is 6'8" a power forward right now on the current roster probable howard will be gona we have gooden, juwan howard, garritey all playing the power forward. If we could get dwight howard 6'11 in the east he would be a huge help.

I think Orlando should go right ahead and pick Howard. Okafur is not very good offensively, especially now that he's in the NBA, the people are much bigger.

Dwight is 6'10, Okafor is 6'9.
Dwight Howard by no means will play center. He is not a post type of player, and will not be defending Shaq or Yao anytime soon.
I agreee with Magic having too many power forwards. But Dwight is more of a small forward/guard. If Tracy leaves, D. Howard is the way to go...

And by the way, Okafor will get better at offence...

I believe Dwight will be a SF and play alongside Gooden at PF. We still need a Center, but if that Houston deal is true, then we will get Cato to fill that.

    PG-Francis
    SG-Mobley
    SF-Dwight
    PF-Gooden
    C-Cato

    Bench-Garrity, Lue, Stevenson, Bogans, Declerq
If you ask me, that is a lineup that even JD can't screw up.
