I wrote a long response to this article that was just erased so I'm going to keep this one simple. Howard Schultz is a coward. If you want to be successful in anything you have to be fully committed. No one who stepped up to keep the Sonics in Seattle was fully committed. Clay Bennett was and that is why he was able to bring his home state an NBA franchise.

Schultz should have filed an injunction to keep the team in Seattle and he should have seen the case all of the way through. Had he lost I would have given him the benefit of the doubt that he sold the team in hopes of getting an arena deal done in Seattle -- and not just for the 150 million dollar profit that he and his investors netted for the transaction. But at the end of the day Schultz was only interested in the money and he wanted some positive press at a time where the Starbucks CEO needs anything positive to report.

I'm done with the league. Catch me watching the Atlanta Hawks for Flip and Rick Sund and that is about it. Frontrunners are not my type of people.

Wait, Schultz is dropping the suit without a payoff? I don't believe that for a second.
