Potential to be a 4 way with LA, Denver, Philly and Orlando. LA sends Gasol and Bynum for Howard and Al Harrington Denver sends Afflalo and other pieces for Igguodola Philly sends Iggy and potentially more for Bynum Orlando sends Howard for Gasol(to possibly move elsewhere), Afflalo, and other pieces from philly and Denver. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--l...rade-talks-to-send-dwight-howard-to-l-a-.html
Given the age difference and declining productivity of Gasol, Orlando had better be getting more in terms of additional players or some good picks. Otherwise, they'd be ahead just to take Bynum.
If I'm Kobe I think I would too. D Ho is a Diva. Take the blue collar players who have been there. If Aflallo was available, would you rather have him than Wes? I'm not sure. Wes might be a good vet to help the rookies learn the ropes.
For this year, maybe yes. But they don't want to contend this year. They want to contend every year. Howard is 26. All those other guys (except Bynum) are much older. The Lakers are used to having superstar/best-in-the-league talent, and they need to start looking at reloading that pool for another decade. The price they pay for it is living with a ridiculous diva. Which is what Shaq and Kobe were for a long time, so it's not like it's something they couldn't historically handle.
Thought 1: Is this really the best Orlando can do? Thought 2: It sort of sounds sort of fair for everyone else. Thought 3: What's Howard's incentive to stay around, given that his supporting cast is all in the AARP?
Meanwhile Blazers GM Neil Oshley is putting the finishing touches on a trade with the Clippers, offering Kaleb Canales and a 2nd round pick for the Clippers' team bus.
Interesting down here in Socal, they are saying (on the radio) that Gasol is not part of the trade. They can't explain how the deal would work without him, but that's what they are hearing......
Good question. The next month is actually busy. I'm going to GenCon (game convention) for fun next week. Then, when I come back, I have a role in a movie called "Lady Peacock" that I'll shoot for about 10 days. Then I go to San Diego for a party to celebrate my recent marriage with West coast friends and family. THEN, the coolest thing, I'm being flown out to Paris, put up at a hotel, and paid very nicely to sign autographs at this: parismanga.fr/. There's another movie called "Disorientated" that I'm supposed to shoot in Italy in January but if that gets postponed (it's been postponed a few times already), I'll go back to LA for pilot season. Thanks for asking. Hahahahahahahahahaha!
Hey, gratz on the wedding, I must have missed my invite. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate, nice. I would like to see you in more stuff, so good luck.
Sixers will be a tough out now. Sixers/Lakers final? If there are no injuries, there's no way the Lakers lose. What next? Is Phil coming back too? Book it. 2013 champs = Lakers
