How's the Los Angeles weather during winter? Hey guys, especially people of LA, I have a question concerning your weathing during the period of mid-december to mid-january. I have family there and my sister keeps nagging on my mom that she wants to go there. Now my mom is asking me to go there with her and for me to accept this (I don't like wasting money (i'm cheap as hell)) So my question is if it's worth going there or does it rain all the time, cuz that's what I've been told. I've already been there several times, during februari and summer, so it's not like I'm dying to go there. Although, I wouldn't mind paying a visit to the Staples Center for a game So what do you guys think? Is it worth going there now duing winter, or is it better to just wait till the summer? Mainly it's the weather I'm worried about. I'd appreciate your honest answers...

It's about 70 degrees right now.

Sweden sucks all year around exept during summertime. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">(I don't like wasting money (i'm cheap as hell))</div> I can vouch for that
If you're in Sweden, why does it matter that it's cold? I mean, you should be used to it right? But yeah, it should never dip below 0 degree Celcius in LA, or so I think.
So far the weather's been decent in the GTA. I was expecting snowfall by now. Today was just rain and fog, which I don't mind at all.
L.A.'s weather is great. The town sucks though imo. People either love L.A. or hate it though so you may like it.

Then again, it's been like this since September, makes up for the early arrival of fall I guess.
I hate it when its cold and it rains. I just hate that a lot. Weather in houston is beautiful and incosistent at the same time. One day, it would be hot, next day cold, next day superwindy. But most of the days is beautiful.
Is Canadian weather as rediculous as Minnesotas? Last week started at about 40's as the highs, very windy and dry. That lasted two days, then it was in the 60's for like 3 days, then snowed two days later. It was annoying, yet happens non stop all year.
<div class="quote_poster">Locke Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">If you're in Sweden, why does it matter that it's cold? It's all the clothes you have to wear, it's the diseases spread, it's the higher electrical bills and the snow, ice and rain. Plus, I like the sun. Over here right now, there is no sun, and I don't expect to see it for a few more months.
My grandma told me it usually rains all the time during winter...I don't know who to believe here Locke: I'd take SNOW over RAIN anyday... I want to be able to go out and play ball and not just sit around all days watching my grandma cooking me dinner Although she does have satellite...

I'm telling you it doesn't rain here, the forecast today is 81 degrees and blue skies again. They'll be a little rain in december, but it doesn't last long and sun dries it up by early afternoon. phundamentalz - How can you say LA sucks? There is and endless amount of things to do in Southern California. The women are gorgeous, the food is great, there's concerts, clubs, bars, tourist crap, things are open 24/7, and if you're into nature there's plenty of that, plus the weather is great to enjoy nature. LA sucks if you don't drive, but I don't see how you can hate LA. What's missing here?

In other cities you can walk out your door and have all the options right there. you have to drive everywhere there are a lot of posers there, more so than other places. lots of hostile little bitches that want to fight you. traffic-road-rage. the cops there are weirdos and there are way too many stupid laws like no jaywalking and stuff and 24-7 lol it is a VERY sleepy town for a big city. almost everyone is in the entertainment industry. if they're not in the entertainment industry, they talk about it All The Time. Like there is nothing else to talk about. and people are overall dumber. that's my experience of it. admittedly i hung out with a particular crowd but I'm not the first to have this experience. like i said, it's a love it or hate it town. I have lived there for a total of about 4-5 years so I have some perspective. I get annoyed when people say L.A. sucks having been there for one week, of which a lot do, but I have lived there.

You do need a car, I'll give you that, because public transportation in LA is non-existent. Traffic road-rage is everywhere, people just don't like sitting in traffic. Drivers in London, New York, and Paris are insane, and even the traffic in San Francisco Bay Area has become unbearable. There are a lot of negatives in LA, but it's such a large area and so diverse, there's something for everyone. There are a lot of people in the "industry" and posers, but if you don't like those types just don't hang out around them. I don't know anyone who's been cited for jaywalking, it might be a law, but it's rarely enforced. Originally I came to SoCal from the Bay Area. For me, LA is the better place to live when you're young and want to wild out. I'd never raise a family in SoCal, and I plan to move back to the Bay Area or Switzerland when the time comes to settle down. But of all the countries I've been too, LA is hard to top for being young and single.
<div class="quote_poster">phunDamentalz Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">there are a lot of posers there, more so than other places. lots of hostile little bitches that want to fight you.</div> Don't be so quick to judge...it be very easy for me to say there are alot of assholes in Queens....however, be mature about it....if your going to complain about people I suggest you find a secluded place in Alaska and live by yourself because you don't seem like a people person at all. And as a matter of fact, Los Angeles is one of the most culturally diverse cities in all of America. You find all walks of life here. It depends on who you want to be around...so if your going to situate yourself around these so called "hostile little bitches" than that's your own fault. Every cities has its pros and cons. <div class="quote_poster">phunDamentalz Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">the food - well if you want to drive all over the place there is good food, but usually you're stuck with fast food if you just want something quick. You dont necessarily need a car to get somewhere. I'm sure if you have a functional brain you could easily find some fun in Los Angeles with hardly any trouble. <div class="quote_poster">phunDamentalz Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">there are a lot of posers there, more so than other places.</div> This is so vague of a sentence I don't even know how to respond to it. However, if I were you, I would try using some positive words and not "posers" (What do you mean by this anyway?). How about calling some of the people dreamers...because everyone wants the best out of their life and if their actions arent directly effecting you then why should it bother you. And again, its the people you try to situate yourself with. If you only look at the negative then your going to loose sight of all the positives. <div class="quote_poster">phunDamentalz Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">the cops there are weirdos and there are way too many stupid laws like no jaywalking and stuff</div> How is jaywalking a stupid law? They are trying to protect you from get run over by a car. You may have lived here for 4 years but you sure havent experience Los Angeles the way it should be experienced.
<div class="quote_poster">shapecity Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> LA sucks if you don't drive, but I don't see how you can hate LA. What's missing here?</div> Haha I know alot about that. Like 3 years ago when I was 15, me and my cousin got lost on the bus. We ended up in this latino neighbourhood and we were terrified. It was the last station for the bus, but the nice driver gave us a quarter each to take the bus back to Glendale I'm armenian btw if you haven't noticed.
