Hubie Brown Resigns because of health issues. Lionel Hollins, Brown's assistant head coach, will be the temporary head coach.

Man, Hubie was a great coach, but I think the slow start stressed him out. One of the greatest NBA coaches, hope he is still involved with an organization, hoping he gets better too. TNT confirmed this, but no link.

Will be sadly missed, hopefully he stays involved in the game in some sort of role, maybe in the media.

Hope he gets better, Health is a lot more important than your career, he had a great career and turned that franchise around...

This announcement is certainly shocking. Where did this come from? I loved Hubie Brown as a head coach, and I doubt we will able to do much more in the future.

As for the matter of a new head coach, Hubie put us in a difficult position by retiring in the middle of the season. If it would have been earlier, we might have been able to snag a good coach. It looks like we'll have to wait the rest of the season out with Hollins. He's a great coach by all means, but we can do better. He coached the team in Vancouver and did mediocre with them. I wonder if he'll still run a ten man rotation.

Sorry Grizzliy fans. Hubie was such a big part for you and your tesm. He's the reason why you guys were in the playoffs last year. I hope your new coach can be as beneficial as Brown was.

Yeah it would be ashame if the Grizz didn't even make the playoffs cause of Hubie resigning. But anyways hope he gets better and maybe go back to commentating on tnt. The commentator that could give you every + about any and I mean any individual player.

This definitely comes as a surprise to me. I think the Grizz could be in some trouble. It'll be interesting to see the type of team chemistry they have under Hollins. Also, I'm curious to see if he plays Hubie's 10 man rotation, or if he plays the starters more.

Wow I am shocked by this. When I saw the topic and as the page was loading I was hoping it was a joke. Hubie Brown was such a great coach. You know this because of the fact that his system worked back when he coached the Knicks and now with the Grizz. The thing I am most interested in is if Jason Williams returns to his White Chocolate days with Hubie gone. It seemed that Hubie was the only coach that really got to him. Well, best of luck Grizz fans and I hope Hubie will stay healthy.

That is truly sad to hear. Good thing is they protected there assistant coach last off season from going any where in hopes that he would take over the job after Hubie Brown retired. Although, I am sure no one expected it to be this season or come in the way it did. I still expect the Griz to run the same offensive sceme under there new supposed "temp coach".

What this does solve is the who starts problem since West had been pushing for Wells to start, and play a key roll in the offense yet Brown really liked Mike Miller, and wanted him to start. Maybe the true menafactor of all this will be Wells.

You know, I was wondering that myself. This may sound crazy, but I am actually hoping that Jason Williams reverts to his old ways. It's sad to say it, but while he may be a bit better of a player right now, he's really boring to watch. White Chocolate used to be the most entertaining player in the NBA, and I'd love to see him make a comeback.

Bonzi Wells was named the full-time starter a while ago. [IMG]

As for the question of the new head coach, many sources believe that it will be the Czar.

I`ll miss Hubie, 33 years of directing on the sidelines, amazing. Yeah Mike Fratello would a great fit with Memphis. He`d like that young talent.

Fratello as the Grizzlies coach would suck. His offense is boring and the focus is entirely on defense. Besides, the Grizz do not have any defensive prodigies that would excel in the Czar's system. Gasol, Wells, Williams and Swift are more suited for an uptempo offense.
