<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'> Hull City are attempting to sign Paris St Germain's out-of-contract former France defender Bernard Mendy, reports BBC Radio Humberside. Former Bolton loanee Mendy, 26, is understood to have been offered a three-year deal by the Tigers. Hull assistant boss Brian Horton said: "There's been ongoing talks but he has got an Italian club also interested. "He's got to make his mind up with his agent and his wife if he wants to come to England or go to Italy." Mendy, who can play at right-back or in midfield, spent the 2002-03 season with Bolton. Hull boss Phil Brown was then Bolton's assistant manager and is keen to take the player back to England. Sampdoria are believed to be the Italian club interested in Mendy, but Hull are confident they can persuade him to sign for them. Horton said: "You're always confident because you try and sell the club and show them around but at the end of the day it'll be with the agent and the player [to make a decision]. "I think a lot of the foreign players do want to play in the Premier League so we've given him the opportunity to play there for Hull City." Mendy started his career as a youngster at French club SM Caen before joining PSG - the club he supported as a child.</div> Source: BBC Sport This is exactly the type of player the Tigers need to bring in. I really like the approach Phil Brown has taken into his summer transfer season before it has even begun. I'm sure they'll be able to attract even more players that fit the team's style of attacking play. They will definitely need a forward next, so here's hoping on Jan Koller!
They should try and go after some Eastern European players as well. (like from the Balkans for example)
