<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Even as Orlando Magic center Steven Hunter tries to impress his current employer, it doesn't appear he is in their future plans.

Hunter, a 7-footer, has played mostly mop-up minutes, if at all, after beginning the season as a starter.

And if he needs another tip-off, all he has to do is check Magic General Manager John Gabriel's itinerary. Gabriel is scouting big men on campus, on high school teams and on foreign soil. The only place he doesn't figure to go is the circus.

Resigned to the fact that the 13-35 Magic will be saddled with a top lottery pick, Gabriel made another scouting trip Friday, traveling to Atlanta to see 6-10 high school phenom Dwight Howard.

He already has seen University of Connecticut power forward Emeka Okafor. Gabriel next expects to head overseas to scout 7-5, 300-pound Russian giant Pavel Podkolzine.</div>

I think we all know Hunter was leaving. He rea;;y couldn't shine here in Orlando. I'm glad to see him go really. It gives him a chance to really blow up with a team that'll give him a chance.

I've always liked him. Good shot blocker, does a great job of getting position inside and full of potential. Maybe Orlando isn't the best place for him.

This is what's gonna happen: He leaves Orlando goes somewhere else and becomes a shot blocking machine. Possibly wins the DPOY somewhere else.

I wish we would have played him more. Why the hell does Declerq still start over Hunter and Zaza? Give Hunter and Zaza each 15-20 mins a game.

I agree. But you can't tell nothing to Davis.

Declearq should be out man I kinda feel bad for him..lol Hunter should not leave maybe we can kick declerq out and keep Hunter..honestly I prefer keeping Hunter over Zaza..Hunter is one of the only good defensive players that Orlando has.

Hunter was holding his own against the Nets.. He showed a spark that will unfortunatly turn into a explosion with another team... Like sportsrock said.. Hes gonne break out.. Just like Ben Wallace did... He isnt getting the right minutes or chances.. I am not sure, but I bet you any money that Wallace was in the same perdicament... He wasnt getting time, he got traded to Detriot, and turned into the Leagues best Shot Blocker and One of the best Defensive players..

Bye Bye Hunter... Stupid GM.. Stupid Coach.. Gah

That's the Magic for you right there. Guess what though? We probably won't fire Gabe or JD, so we'll have them both next year, so we can get another lotto pick!!!!! [IMG] The difference between Hunter and Zaza is that Zaza has more offense and hustles more and Hunter has better defense. I don't understand why we don't just play Hunter more because the game last night proves that we dont' need all 5 guys on the floor to just be scorers. We can flat out score. We need some defense.

ok hmm..Hunter was 3/3 yesterday 7 pts...he has great defense..better than zaza..I like both good defense and hustlin(that reminds me of a guy called darrel) anyways..I think right now we could use more Hunter than zaza..and maybe have them both on the floor at the same time?t-lue , t-mac ,gooden/howard , zaza and Hunter.

Howard and Gooden can't play the SF position. Hunter normally doesn't hustle too much and his offense is normally awful. I don't know how many times he steps out of bounds when he touches the ball. It's so often that he does that.

This year is lost anyway, Howard is playing so well, I'd keep him, especially since Gooden works better as a sparkplug. Better to wait for the draft and Dwight Howard.

No, because the Russian guy has bust written all over him. We wouldn't play him at all.

    Thanks. [IMG]

Okafor is more of just a PF, while Dwight can play SF, PF, and C.

Why get pavel when his report says he cant play defense.. What good is a 7'5 guy that dosnt know how to play defense.. I would take a 5'5 guy that could play defense over a 7'5 guy that couldnt play defense anyday..

Oh yeah that is the best sig ever... hahaha

well I guess that makes sense..but whats Dwight Height? if he can play PF then he probably not that tall...and I really think we need Tall guys...hopefully 2nd round pick could be a European Tall guy? maybe another Yao Ming?

Tall guys arnt always the answer... sure they have height to block shots.. But look at Ben Wallace.. Hes only 6'9.. He plays center.. But hes Strong, and he can jump to block the shot... And hes a good defensive player.. Let me show you something..

He is 2nd to Theo Ratliff, by 1 block and Wallace is ahead of Ratliffin BPG by .05..

    Theo is 6'10..

People don't have to be tall to block shots and play defense.. Height isnt everything..
