I wonder if the Hornets had lost their last couple of games, Hunter would have passed his physical with flying colors? Right now Aaron Williams is giving them some quality minutes, they probably re-evaluated the situation and felt Hunter is not needed.
I don't think there's anything sinister here, just that the Hornets weren't happy and backed out. Whilst Williams has been solid, Hunter would have provided something different.
