Its a US territory in the Marianas. NOw the mainland knows what we islanders feel year after year. Hurricanes are the equivalent to a typhoon. Last year we got pounded my a typhoon packin 180mph winds with 245 mph gusts. We got smacked. NO power for over a month. We just got hit by a more moderate two weeks ago. around 145mph with gusts to 165mph. All the homes here are made of concrete and we have typhoon shutters. We also dont by nice cars unless we can garage them well! HAHA
Man, I'm glad I'm in Canada. No hurricanes, no tornado's and it's pretty hot in the summer. Winters might be a little cold but oh well.
The hurricane hit us on Saturday night and our power went out and no power means no airconditioning so it was so brutally hot inside the house we had to leave and stay in a hotel until the power finally came back on today.
I'm in Boca Raton, and we lost power Saturday morning and got it back Monday night around 7:30. It was a constant 85? inside and at night, we could barely sleep due to the loud thrashing of trees. This was the worst storm to hit Florida because it was so slow moving (3 mph at one point) and devistated most of the state. Luckily, nothing happened to my house and hopefully, nothing happened to anyone here at JBB.

I'm in Island Lakes, by that little elementary school. That's cool that you live near me. What streets you on? If this is inappropriate for this forum, PM me.
