watching usa basketball team clips it got me thinking about how these two compare to each other. if you switch them around and irving is on the blazers, where are we considered in the playoff picture? I personally I don't think irving is that much better but I feel like nationally people would say we are a playoff team. kevin pelton just rated the twolves ahead of us for the projected 8 spot.....really?

Irving was quite a bit better in head to head matches last year, so i think we would be better. Hopefully Lillard has closed the gap this summer though.

I think Irving is better I dont think its that much better and I agree the gap is closing. With that said, and I dont know how else to word this, it seems like Irving plays "bigger" or "taller" and Im not sure why I say that other than the eye test.

Irving is a 21+ PER guy, Lillard a 16.4 PER guy.

No doubt Irving is the better player.

We haven't seen Lillard's second season, tho. I expect a solid upgrade in his game.

    Lets see in a year.

Irving seems to miss games and lillard so far has not. I think Irving on our team last year missing 20+games would have made us worse than we were with lillards 82.

Irving is much more talented than Lillard. I love Damian, but given the chance to trade him for Kyrie, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

You put Irving in with a dominant big like Aldridge and they are a playoff team. I love Lillard, but Irving is a fucking man child!

The knock on Irving isn't his talent, but his health. He needs to stay healthy.

With that said, Dame did average more points and more assists than Irving as a rookie :dunno:

Dame is already my favorite bball player but you can only be a big-time homer if you said you wouldn't trade him straight up for Irving.

Luckily we don't have to worry about that decision. It isn't going to happen.

I would not trade Lillard straight across for Irving. Lillard has Iron Man in the making. Kyrie (I am a HUGE fan BTW) is always hurt.

He missed 15 games his rookie season. He missed 23 games in 12-13. Not to mention he only played in 11 of the 40 games Duke played in 2011.

Why would you check Lillard's Per-36 when he played 38+ Mins per game? Illogical.
