Would you trade McCollum, Leonard and Wright to Boston for Olynyk and their #17 pick?

No, but I would trade them to Minny for Dieng and the #13.

However, I think they (T'Wolves) would drop the phone and we'd hear laughter in the background.

Yeah, I think I probably would. I'd really like to see more from Barton and Crabbe, Olynyk appears to be a better (or at least more serviceable) player than Leonard, and it opens up another roster spot to fill with a bench vet.

So, just to clarify--is this thread intended just to discuss that specific hypothetical trade, or all hypothetical trades?

    All hypothetical trades.

I just can't see draft day passing with Olshey just sitting on his hands. There's going to be some kind of trades. Whether for a pick, or not.

In my example, Olshey can atone for his sin of passing on Olynyk. I don't think McCollum's going to be a bum. But he's undersized and seems fragile. He's a 8th or 9th man on a championship caliber team. Just my opinion though. Olynyk is a more versatile Luis Scola in his prime. Perhaps an even higher ceiling than that.

Well since you asked: Celtics May Have Best Offer On Table To Wolves For Kevin Love.

The Boston Celtics continue to pursue a trade for Kevin Love, offering the No. 6 and No. 17 picks in this year's draft, along with future No. 1's and young players such as Jared Sullinger or Kelly Olynyk.

Flip Saunders does not want to trade away Love, but he is beginning to realize that he would lose him for nothing next summer and this offer from the Celtics may be the best one he receives from any team.

The Wolves would own picks No. 6, 13 and 17, which could allow them to remake the core of the roster

    The Celtics aren't that stupid.
Olynyk is the one player I would want from that team other than Rondo. I think he is going to be great.
No chance the Celts trade him (and a 1st rounder?!) for the bottom of our bench.

In like 2 seconds. Problem is, Boston would laugh at that offer

Yes. I'm real excited to see CJ this year but the draft is loaded. Meyers and Wright are worth less than their contracts, I'd ditch them if the option were available. I consider Olynyk, CJ and the #17 to all have similar value. A case could be made that any of those three is worth the most or least of the trio. So us getting two of those assets is a big win. I don't think Boston would be interested.

With so many teams having multiple mid round draft picks they will be available if there is a player we really want. I'd probably look to deal our 2015 pick and then buy out Clavier.

    T-Rob for Kyle Anderson.

    Yay or nay?

BubbleButt is that appealing to you? I'd be interested in the guy but with his injuries and defensive shortcomings I have a lot of concern of him ever being a rotational player on a good team.

What changed my mind about Olynyk is when I watched him this year I was surprised to realize he's actually a great defender! Defense is actually his biggest strength. He plays very smart, surprisingly tough team defense.
T-Rob for Anderson? No. I like T-Rob too much. I'm also a big fan of Anderson but I think Batum has most of his unique abilities as a big PG/Point-forward.

I'd do that trade. Not sure Boston would though. Especially if Minny demands Olynyk in a trade for Love. Meyers has absolutely no trade value IMHO.
